Course Description
The goal of chamber music is to promote musical experimentation, develop
familiarity with basic chamber repertoire for clarinet, enhance performance
preparation through research and apply principles of action research in
presentation a chamber music production. Coaching and online reviews will focus
on listening and rehearsal techniques.
Course Requirements
Rehearsals and Coachings
Students will develop a “web-based” on-line and " face-to-face" strategy for coaching,
practice tapes and CDs, performance (s) and group rehearsals. A Developed and detailed
week by week SYLLABUS will be signed and deposited with the instructor of record
prior to “Drop and Add” date. This syllabus will be developed in conjunction with the
instructor of record. Students should be familiar with a sound editor ( Audacity ) or any
tool capable of producing MP3 files...in emergencies, audio cassettes are acceptable.
Attendance
Students are expected to be collegial, resolve intense disputes through dialogue
journaling, and honor explicit time commitments , once rehearsal times have been
established. Grades for this course are based on attendance at rehearsals,
submission of on-line materials ( mp3, tapes, CDs, videos ) , and the results of at
least one public performance venue. These conditions will be defines in the
weekly syllabus. Each group should elect a coordinator/manager to maintain
regular contact with this office.
