The following contains a list of the changelogs that we have made during the development of AW2 - all the
way from build 1.00.10 - build 4.3.
CHANGELOG Build 4.3
Cosmetics
• Default font ingame and menu is now changed to a high quality gamers font that suits the AW2
theme.
• Map list in “LAN hosting” is now much
bigger, which allows you to see 18 maps at
a time instead of 9 as JO was set to as
default. Map list is also made wider which
makes it possible to see the full map title.
Overall it gives a better overview of the map
list and makes a specific map easier to find.
Installer
10x faster installation of AW2 Full version than before. Installer script has been reworked and improved to
make a complete installation of AW2 possible in less than 5 min. *Install time depends on your hardware*
Weapons and Ammo changes
• Body armor now comes with the default gear and does not have to be
selected, just like the parachute.
• Flashbang now blows up after 1.3 sec after throwing it. Was default 4 sec before. Changing this to
blow up faster makes it a lot easier for players to throw the flashbang directly in the face of the
enemy and make them blind without delay. Very good for getting out of combat situations where
you need a quick distraction.
• Nade launchers improvement. Lowered the rate of which the nade launchers can fire grenades to
balance the firepower better with the gameplay.
• Emplaced Flamethrower improvement fix. Removed 50cal casing effect and 50cal recoil sound
• Molotov Cocktail effect improvement. Better fire effect while in air.
• Molotov Cocktail has now a safety feature to prevent players from damaging themselves. It simply
won’t explode until 0.3 sec after it is thrown. It gives it enough time to get out of the damage zone.
Should you want to kill yourself anyway with a molotov, simply throw it up in the air and try to catch
it! ☺
• G3, G36, L1A1 rifle improvements. Less recoil when firing.
• Sniper rifles improvements. All rifles shows Range to Target when in scoped view, making it possible
for players to adjust the elevation of the bullet path “on-the-fly” without having to switch to
binoculars to get the range first.
• Weapon Iron sights (previous static aim sights have been replaced with Iron sights):

have been fixed so that AIs also can spot you now through them.

Object problems fixed on:
• Fixed missing texture issue on wreck of [mgaz66] -- AW2: Gaz-66 Truck
• Improved texture and decreased memory usage for mlada
• Increased hitpoints on HEMTT truck. Before it only took 1 rocket, now it takes 2-3.
• Corrected texture on “AW2:

by flipping it, so you can
read the numbers.

Was attachable only by the host player/not player join/not player on dedicated
server. Has been fixed.

Memory usage reduction
• Menu graphics has been reduced by 5mb.
• Ingame menu graphics reduced by at least 2mb.
• Player avatars reworked, characters memory usage reduced by 300%. Texture and character
reworked. Old females have been kicked out, and Blonde female “Ranger” and red haired foxy
“Mercenary” introduced instead.

Upgraded Objects
AW2: Signal bridge with lights, change with DOOR
Original signal bridge from JO has been upgraded to “AW2: Signal bridge with lights, change with
DOOR”. Signal bridge can now change colors from red to green using door function.
“AW2: Street Lantern” upgraded. Dynamic
lights have been added, can now be switched on
and off using door function.
“AW2: Spotlight moving“
upgraded. Decreased memory usage
and mappers can switch color
depending on which team they set the
object to. Team 0 = White light, Team
1 = Blue light, Team 2 = Red light.
Lights is no longer destroyable but can
be switched on and off using door
function.
IMPORTANT NOTE to mappers: These new improvements on the spotlight causes it NOT to be
destroyable by default anymore. So if you have a map, where it is one of the goals to destroy the
spotlights – here is a workaround: Put a destroyable object in front of the spotlight and when it is
destroyed, remove the spotlight.
“AW2: Beacon Tower “ upgraded. Decreased memory usage and mappers can switch color
depending on which team they set the object to. Team 0 = White light, Team 1 = Blue light, Team 2 =
Red light. Lights can be switched on and off using door function.
"AW2: Destroyed Bunker" upgraded. Has ladder to roof now
AW2: Bamboo Hut #1 and #2 and #3 . Improved texture.
AW2: Transport Truck #2 with armory, Drivable
“AW2: Monster Truck Russian, Drivable” has been replaced with "AW2: Transport Truck #2 with
armory, Drivable".
Since we already have 1 monster truck USA, there was room to add this improved version of a mobile
transport truck with armory inside.
F-117 Stealth Fighter
A-10 Jet has been upgraded to F-117 Stealth Fighter.
This is a bomber jet and is invisible to Stingers! It is able to carry
10 bombs. Safety switch is enabled for the bombs, so if fired they
won’t detonate when the plane is on the ground.
Use the spin map in the lower right corner to find out if you’re
above your “drop zone” .
F-22 Raptor
The mig-29 has been replaced by the F-22 Raptor. This beauty fires
rockets and have exhaust flame, auto closing cockpit and retractable
gear system.
AV-8 Harrier
The ESU-25 has been replaced by this AV-8 Harrier. It’s fires rockets
and able to rotate faster than any of the other jets, which makes it
ideal for any type of environment.
Options: (bots only) Make any of the jets fire any ammo type in AW2 using a custom AIP - for
example nades, rockets, flares etc Check the AW2 site and forum regularly for more info on
custom AIPs and how to apply them.
The following objects use less memory without any quality loss
Generally this could mean a memory reduction up to 10% of your map, which in the end means that
mappers can have room for more objects than before.

• AW2 – Dark Hours (by Lunda)
• Rickmans maps (M5/M6/M8/M9/M10/M11) removed by his request due to dead-zone bug and
once 4.3 is released he wants to adapt them to the new patch. New versions will be released by
him once ready.
MedMod features:
• Update 4.3 features it’s own MEDMOD with the most important features that you know from the
previous medmod.
• MedMod Switch - directly accessible in main menu of AW2, that allows you to easily switch
between regular AW2 and the medmod. No need for 2 installations.
• MedMod server exe included (more info in text file)
• Medic is able to choose any weapon
• Ammo is increased to the same as previous medmod.
• Unlike previous medmod, Medic pack is still prioritized as quickswitch shortcut key (default “F”)
since that is the most used function.
So if you for example carry the M203 with grenade launcher, the quickswitch function will not
switch to the grenade launcher but will go to your medic pack. If you want the grenade launcher,
press 3 until you get it.
CHANGELOG - Build 4.2
• 3 new invisible walls to limit the area where players can go in a map. Thanks Cavebear.
- "AW2: Invisible Wall 4x8m"
- "AW2: Invisible Wall 64x128m"
- "AW2: Invisible Wall 4x8m, blocks players but not AIs"
(useful in scenarios where mappers want to contain players inside the fighting area but still want AIs
attacking from the outside. In addition this could also help to avoid giving away the respawning
position of AIs, preventing spawncamp.)
• " AW2: Beacon Tower w. rotating beam" improved! It now has switchable light.
Default is On. Mappers can turn the beacon light off and on - using the door function.
• Added missing 3rd person minigun sound for helos with miniguns.

Build 4.10
• JointOps.exe 1.6.9.2 replaces the 1.7.1.9 exe to avoid sysdumps and incompatibility with some of
the objects and certain wac events.
• "AW2: Large Warehouse" >> roof retextured.
• "AW2: Bamboo Hut #1" >> bamboo tower rextured to fit the rest of the building.
• "Bailey's Drivable Shopping Cart! (bfm)" >> Missing textures added.
• "AW2: Sewer Pipe" >> it no longer makes the game crash with the 1.7.9 exe. when walking
through it.
• "AW2: Hot Air Balloon, Flyable" fly speed decreased.
• Memory usage reduced and optimized by removing AK47/GP25 and 357 revolver.
• More realistic turning ability on vehicles.
Land vehicles have been modified to be able to turn very good at lower speeds whereas at higher
speeds the vehicle's turning ability is lowered. At that point the driver can either choose to slow
down or powerslide through corners instead.
• Added missing MED pictures.
• Red Team can now also select the characters from the Joint Ops team, thereby balancing both
teams.
• Flaregun improvement. Ammo has been increased from 5 shells to 10 shells.
• Tanks with 50 cals, such as the Stryker and ZSU-23, can now get killed by tanks with same amount
of armor (Stryker, ZSU-23, BTR-80 etc.)
• Hitpoints increased on ZSU-23 tank.
• Overheating values on emplaced weapons improved.
It now takes longer for the emplaced weapons to overheat, however when they reach overheat
stage it also takes longer time to cool down. Making it more realistic and possible for players to get
closer to the gun while it cools down.
• Fixed "music" waves. Some of them were not able to play ingame before. Now all of them work.
• Increased cooling down time of flamethrower and decreased the amount of liquid.
This is to balance the weapon and to prevent too much lag on servers if everyone is using it.
• New sound- and ambiance effects for mappers to use in their maps.
(distant artillery bombings, dogs barking, jet fly overs, metal streching and squeaking, owls and
wolves howling, rubble pieces falling, russian and terrorist voices chatting - shouting - interrogating,
alarms, bells, birds, button activation sounds, plane and helo fly overs, coyote, crows, water
dripping, sewer system, distant war, explosions, growling, horns, papers flying, scary rattling, rats
squeaking, insects, distant rhumbling, gusty wind and additional thunder- lightning sound fx)

Certain types of trees and bushes are flammable and will catch on fire, eventually leaving a burned out
foliage. These are triggered either from nearby explosions or the flamethrower but not ordinary bullets.
The result is a more dynamic environment than seen before, and you get to burn things! ;-)

The smoke has been improved and made into volmetric shapes, thereby looking closer to a real-life
smoke bomb.
The orange smoke follows the wind direction and stays in air for a longer period of time, making it
easy for your teammates to locate your position.

down time it takes before it can fire again. It prevent AIs from running out of ammo when they are
seated behind a stationary weapon.
This means during heavy attacks, players can no longer just sit and wait until the machineguns are
out of ammo, but will have to fight back.
Weapon features
• Turrets on tanks now uses the heat indicator to show to the player when he is able to fire the next
round. Same goes for the Ship cannon.
• Overheat values implemented on all stationary weapons. Cooling down time increased.
Sound FX
• Bullet impact sounds improved a lot more than what JO:TR ever had to offer.
Sounds vary depending on which material you shoot at:

- Snow

• Car alarm that goes off when destroying certain civilian cars and trucks have been increased.
