INVITATION TO BID
Truck, Custom, with Herbicide Sprayer
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners are accepting sealed bids from qualified firms to
finish and deliver one new, Right of Way Truck with Mounted Herbicide Sprayer System. The
truck will be a 2007 model year or newer, for Douglas County Department of Transportation, in
accordance with county specifications, terms and conditions.
Right of way Truck, Custom Built, includes but is not limited to the following specifications: cab
forward design; with minimum 14,050 GVW; 4.75L 250 hp gasoline engine; 4-speed auto trans
w/OD; rear wheel drive; 5.86 rear axle ratio; 80 amp alternator; 109” wheelbase inc: 88.4” CA,
131.5” CE; minimum 44,000 psi yield strength C-shaped sidemember steel frame.
All information for interested bidders, and bidding documents may be reviewed and obtained at
the office of the Douglas County Purchasing Department, (770.920.7247), located on the third
floor of the Douglas County Courthouse, at 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, Georgia.
Sealed bids in response to this Invitation will be received by the:

Bids may be mailed or hand delivered to the Purchasing Director’s Office no later than 2:00 p.m.,
ET, July 18, 2007, so they may be included in a formal bid opening at the Douglas County
Courthouse. Each response should be marked on the outside of the envelope with: “Sealed Bid
for Truck with Herbicide Sprayer, 7/18/07”.
A Pre-Bidders Conference is scheduled for this requirement on July 13, 2007, at 10:00 a.m.,
ET. The conference will be held on the Third Floor of the Douglas County Courthouse, in the
Purchasing Department Conference Room. Attendance at this conference is not mandatory.
A bid bond not less than 5% of the total bid price will be required with your sealed bid. The bid
bond may be in the form of a bond submitted by a surety authorized to conduct business in the
State of Georgia, or a certified or cashier’s check, made out to the Douglas County Board of
Commissioner. Also, payment and performance bonding in an amount not less than 100% of the
contract award price will be required of the successful bidder within 10 days of the contract
award.
Douglas County reserves the right to waive any informality, to reject any and all bids, to evaluate
bids, to accept portions of any bids and to accept any bid, which in its opinion, may be in the best
interest of the County. The County reserves the right to add to or delete from the contract after
the contract has been awarded.
No bid will be received or accepted after the above specified date and time of the bid opening.
Bids submitted after the designated date and time will be deemed invalid and returned unopened
to the bidder. No bid may be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after the bid opening and all
bids shall remain firm during this period.
