9:50 – 10:40                  Lesson: Begin by telling them that they are going to be playing baseball in PE and              EL-P-DUI- U-1
                              that we are going to read a book about a boy who plays baseball and make                        RD-EP-4.0.1
                     K        connections. Read aloud Ronald Morgan Goes to Bat – as we read take time to talk
                              about connections they can make. Discuss the fact that he had to practice a lot to be
                              able to play baseball. Have them share things they have to practice a lot at to get
                              better. Then have them draw something they need to practice at to get better.

                              Then read aloud Meet Derek Jeter and point out the elements as we go through the
                   5th        book.

   Prep time
                              Then read aloud Jackie Robinson Strong Inside and Out and point out the elements as
