J.J. Daniell Middle School Georgia Performance Standards require all students to read a minimum of 25 grade-level appropriate books a year. Reading as many books as you can during the summer will give you a head start on this requirement. Make sure you keep track of the titles and authors you read using the provided reading log. Summer reading assignment: Daniell Middle School students are required to read at least two-three (2-3) books during the summer. You may read any NOVEL written by any of the authors on your grade’s list. Your task: For each book that you read, complete a reading log using the form provided. Use your own paper for additional reading logs, or download and print a copy from the Daniell MS website. For one of the books, complete the book talk handout attached to this sheet. Be prepared to give a book talk and submit your reading logs and book talk form on within the first two weeks of the 2010-2011 school year. You will need the following documents to complete the assignment: 1. Summer Reading Log Form 2. Book Talk Handout. (Both items are available as Word Documents.)
