If there are 6 or less competitors in any class then only 1st prize money will be awarded.

A SPECIAL AWARD SASH WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE HIGHEST PLACED AREA 2B MEMBER IN EACH BSPS
CLASS THAT IS NOT A QUALIFIER FOR THE R.I.H.S. - ELIGIBLE COMPETITORS MUST WEAR AN ARMBAND AT
THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE APPROPRIATE CLASS.

                                                CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. No responsibility will be accepted by the organisers for any loss, damage, injury or illness sustained by the exhibitors,
riders or their horses or ponies and all entries are accepted on this basis.
2. The organizers reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate any classes if there are insufficient entries or to amend the
conditions of any class at their discretion.
3. Entries will not be acknowledged unless a stamped addressed envelope is submitted with the entry.
4. No numbers will be sent to exhibitors before the show date. Competitors’ numbers to be collected from the secretary’s
office on showground.
5. Membership and Registration will be suspended immediately, if cheques payable to the BSPS., the BSPS
Championships Show or a BSPS Area are not honoured by the bank or if there is any money owing to the BSPS, the
Championships Show or a BSPS Area or A BSPS Affilaited show or if ANY TROPHIES belonging to the BSPS, the
BSPS Championships Show or a BSPS Area are not returned by the requested date. A surcharge of £10 will be charged
if cheques have to be represented,
6. The judges listed in the schedule have accepted our invitation to judge but the committee reserve the right to appoint
substitutes should any of the appointed judges withdraw or classes over run.
7. THE TIMETABLE IS PROVISIONAL AND THE COMMITTEE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO AMEND AT THEIR
DISCRETION. Every effort is made to avoid clashing of classes but IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
COMPETITOR TO ENSURE THEY CAN COMPETE IN THE CLASSES ENTERED. THE COMMITTEE RESERVE THE
RIGHT TO CANCEL THE SHOW
8. Committee decisions will be final.
9. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE LITTER OR MUCK OUT LORRIES ON THE SHOWGROUND. ALL DOGS ON LEADS AT
ALL TIMES. NO HORSES TO BE TIED TO THE SIDE OF HORSE BOXES.
10. All trophy winners must sign for their trophies and return them to the secretary promptly and in good repair when
requested.
11. All competitors and visitors to the show MUST adhere to the requests of the car parking attendants or you will be
requested to leave the showground.
BYE LAW (Rule of the Show) - Only tack that is permissible in the ring is allowed on the showground whilst
mounted
                                             SOCIETIES' RULES & CONDITIONS

                                       BSPS RULES - AFFILIATION No 15/08

This show is affiliated to the BSPS and all classes are held in accordance with the 2008 Rule & Show Handbook and all
persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether or not members of the BSPS
are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the BSPS including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have
consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. Any pony taking part in classes judged under BSPS Rules will be liable to
dope testing. Owners and riders must be BSPS members to compete in classes with qualification for BLUE RIBAND,
RIHS (including Pretty Polly & Heritage qualifying classes) HOYS & DENNYBECK CLASSIC and animals must be
registered with the BSPS, except for the Anglo & PB Arabs who must be registered with the AHS>

                                                    QUALIFICATIONS
This show is a qualifier for the Royal International Horse Show. Only one pony in each of the Open Ridden Show Pony
Classes (20-24), Lead Rein Hunter Type (12) Open Show Hunter Classes (13-16), Open Working Hunter Classes (8-10),
Nursery Stakes class (11), Intermediate classes (6 & 17-19), Pretty Polly Mixed Height Show Pony (58), Pretty Polly
Lead Rein (61), Pretty Polly First Ridden (62), Pretty Polly Show Hunter Pony (59-60) and Heritage Open Ridden
Classes (47-50) and Ridden Arab/Part Bred (36-37) qualifies being the highest (not already qualified) from the first five
ponies.
This show is a qualifier for the ‘Dennybeck Classic’ to be held at the BSPS Championship Show 1st & 2nd prizewinners
in each of the Open Show Pony classes (22-24) will qualify. Ponies must be owned and registered by a BSPS member
and ridden by a BSPS Junior member.
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year, the 1st and 2nd prizewinners in the Open Show
Pony Classes (20-24), Open Show Hunter Classes (13-16), Open Working Hunter Classes (8-10) will qualify and the
1st, 2nd & 3rd prizewinners in Intermediate Working Hunter Class (6), Intermediate Show Hunter (17) and Intermediate
SRT (18-19).

This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Summer Championships to be held at the Arena UK, Grantham. 1 & 2
Prizewinners will qualify in classes 2-4 8-11, 13-16, 20-24, 31-34, 51-57, 63-67, 70-73 1st 2nd & 3rd prizewinners in

classes 6, 17-19, 27-29, 30, 35, 43,44, 47-50, & 74-76, 1 -4 prizewinners will qualify in class 46 provided the animal
is owned, registered and ridden by a BSPS member or in accordance with the BSPS rules 23 & 28.

                                           BSPS HARRY HALL BEST RIDER
The Best Rider in each of the following classes at all BSPS affiliated shows will be awarded a Best Rider card and qualify
for the final at the BSPS Summer Championships. Open lead rein, open first ridden, open 128cms, 138cms, 148cms
show ponies, Open L/R of Hunter type, Open 122cms, 133cms,143cms,153cms show hunter ponies, open cradle and
nursery stakes, open 133cms,143cms,153cms,working hunter ponies, open intermediate SRT,SH and WH classes,
Open Heritage Lead Rein and Heritage First Ridden and Open Heritage Ridden and Heritage WHP classes to riders who

have not attained their 25 birthday before 1 January in the current year.

                              THE BSPS TRAVEL TRUST ASSOCIATION CHALLENGE 2008
This show is a qualifier for the ‘BSPS TRAVEL TRUST ASSOCIATION Challenge’, the highest placed pony in the Lead
rein, First Ridden, Lead Rein of HT, Open Show Pony, Open SHP, Cradle & Nursery Stakes, Open WHP, Open Int. SRT,
SH & WH, & the Heritage Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden & WHP classes that has not qualified for the BSPS
2008 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified then
the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony

This show is a qualifier for the ‘BSPS Premier League’. The 1 , 2 and 3 prizewinners in the following classes will

The final to be held at the North of England In Hand Championship show to be held on 19th July 2008. The Champion

                 The CHERIF CHAMPIONSHIP 2008/RIDDEN PART BRED/ANGLO ARAB CLASSES
This show is a qualifying show for the Cherif Championship 2008 . The final will be held at the Cherif Championship
Show at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre , Addington, Bucks, on the 17 September 2008. All details and qualifying
cards at £18 each (cqs. payable to Cherif Championships) from Miss L Temple, Frenat Forest Road, Pyrford, Surrey
GU22 8NA. Please state the name and accurate height of the horse/pony. SAE please. Animals must be registered in
the AHS Anglo and Part bred Arab Stud Book and owners and riders must be BSPS members or Associate members.
Competitors in the Anglo & Part Bred Section – owners must be BSPS Adult or BSPS Associate members. Animals must
be registered in the Arab Horse Society, Anglo & Part Bred Arab Stud book and registration numbers must be declared
when entering. A copy of the registration papers must be forwarded when entering.

                        THE BSPS AREA 2B OVERALL SUPREME SUMMER RIDDEN CHAMPION
The final of this will be held on Sunday 20th July 2008 at the BSPS Area 2B Summer Show – venue The Goosnargh &
Longridge Agricultural Society Showground, Lower Lane , Longridge. Qualification is available at shows throughout Area
2B as indicated in the schedules. Further details of where to qualify are available on the web site www.bspsarea2b.com

                                             DIRECTIONS.

Myerscough College is 6 miles north of Preston, off the A6 Preston to Lancaster road.

Travelling by road from the South: Leave the M6 at Junction 32 (Broughton, Preston), the junction
incorporates the M6 and M55 motorways and the A6 trunk road. Care should be taken to filter left
following the 'A6 Garstang' lane indicators. On joining the A6 , follow the the 'Garstang' signs for 3¾
miles to a large sign on the left hand side of the road naming 'Myerscough College', and turn left
along St Michaels Road. The College is ¾ mile along this road and involves a right turn half way
through an S bend.

Travelling by road from the North: Leave the M6 at Junction 33 (Hampson Green). On joining the A6
travel south following 'Preston' signs for about 9 miles to a large sign on the left hand side of the
road, naming 'Myerscough College', and turn right into St Michaels Road. The college is ¾ miles
along this road and involves a right turn half way through an S bend.Buses between Preston and
Garstang or Lancaster, travel along the A6. The nearest bus stop to St Michaels Road is the Roebuck
Inn.
