raced a bit flat following a couple of hard runs in recent weeks. Trainer M

When questioned regarding the run of ZAC BEAT IT, Jockey D Beasley, stated
that from a wide barrier, he attempted to gain cover, however, after being
initially caught wide, he found himself further back than anticipated. He
further stated that the gelding race keenly early and after initially making
ground entering the straight, ZAC BEAT IT was only one paced in the straight
and failed to make up significant ground. Trainer M Freedman stated that
now that the gelding has become one paced, his intended to race over
further ground at its next start and may attempt to have the horse race in a
more forward position. Their explanations were noted.

HEEDMASTER and ZAC BEAT IT (D Beasley) were impounded for routine

Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 22 January 2010, failed to take all reasonable
and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing. The
particulars of the charge are:

.1 that shortly after the start, he unnecessarily restrained his mount,
thereby resulting in it getting its head up and losing ground; and

.2 that from shortly after the start till near the 800m, he failed to ride
with any endeavour or purpose to obtain a more forward position when
there was an opportunity and it was reasonable to do so, and bearing
in mind, his instructions were to race in a forward position.

Jockey Alan Ng was disqualified for a period of one year with immediate
effect from Tuesday, 26 January 2010 to Tuesday, 25 January 2011 and was
advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey Alan Ng subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal against the
decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him. On
application, he was granted a Stay of Sentence. The Appeal will be heard at
a date to be fixed.
