About Us
Brendan Forrest has always had a passion and aptitude for all things mechanical. He
began a full time career as an exhaust & suspension mechanic in Brisbane in 1989. He
was quickly promoted to workshop manager.
Brendan’s career has taken him to motorsport events and locations Australia-wide. He
has participated as both a driver and an integral pit crew member for many successful
motorsport competitors at formal events, including Targa, Rally Australia, Bathurst,
National Hill climbs, club and rally events.
In 1995, Brendan relocated to Newcastle, and worked in several exhaust and automotive
workshops.
In October 2001, Brendan started Premier Exhaust Services to respond to customers
wanting quality exhaust and specialized mechanical work for a fair price. He set up a
small, but comprehensive workshop, at 92 Maitland Road, Mayfield, Newcastle (opposite
the Beauford Hotel and Shane Brennan Performance Cars).
As customer demand grew, the services were expanded to include performance and
general mechanical work, and the business name was changed to Premier Exhaust &
Performance. An experienced mechanic was employed, and we relocated to a
large 600 sqm facility in Ferry Road, Sandgate in April 2004.
In 2008, we became a licensed inspection station, and launched servicing and pink-slips
(now e-safety check) for light vehicles up to 4 tonne, to provide a one-stop shop for our
customers.
As our services had become more comprehensive, and our range of customers had
expanded (family & fleet cars, performance vehicles, through to trucks and mining
equipment), we evolved into Premier Exhaust & Automotive.
