These questionnaires are based upon research conducted by Search Institute and

their 40 developmental assets that should be present for children to grow into

healthy, productive adults. Scouting programs directly address six of the

developmental assets; Strong personal values and character, positive sense of

self-worth and usefulness, caring and nurturing relationships with parents, other

adults, and peers; a desire to learn; productive/creative use of time; and social

adeptness.
