GUINEE
INTRODUCTION
Le Centre d’Information Public de la Banque Mondiale communément appelé PIC, est un
outils de communication que la Banque Mondiale a mis en place pour s’assurer un
meilleur partage de l’information et du savoir avec le Staff d’une part et le le public
extérieur de l’autre. Il existe un PIC dans tous les Bureaux-pays de la Banque Mondiale
et l’ensemble forme un vaste réseau mondial.
Il offre au public (Gouvernement, Secteur Privé, étudiants, chercheurs, ONGs,
institutions internationales, autres partenaires, Staff, etc.), un cadre spécial, une
opportunité sure pour les études, la documentation et les recherches.
– A cet effet, le PIC est plus un outil de développement qu’une
bibliothèque classique et statique.
Dans son espace de lecture, le PIC vous donne accès aux publications, études, rapports et
bases de données publiques de la Banque et autres partenaires/ organismes de
développement (départements ministériels, société civile, …) en général et toutes
informations utiles sur la mission et les activités de la Banque mondiale en Guinée
(historique, portefeuille, perspectives, …).
Dans son espace électronique, le Centre vous donne, en plus de la lecture un accès gratuit
à l’internet et à ce sujet, des formations sur les techniques de recherche sont
régulièrement organisées (Bases de données de la Banque et de certains organismes de
développement, …)
Dans le souci d’optimiser le temps de recherche et faciliter aux utilisateurs la recherche
des documents, les documents sont codifiés, classés dans les rayonnages par
rubrique/secteur, par ordre d’arrivée et par langue, les secteurs étant eux-mêmes classés
par ordre alphabétique comme suit: Agriculture, Administration, Communication,
Education, Finance, Santé, Mines et Energie etc.…
Il existe aussi et surtout un important outil de recherche à la disposition des utilisateurs, le
CATALOGUE, qui est le répertoire/ référence de toute l’information disponible au PIC.
Deux versions sont disponibles : la version « hard » reliée. Elle est remise à toute
personne qui se présente au PIC et une version électronique qui sera bientôt accessible au
net, permet aux internautes faisant des recherches de parcourir rapidement la liste pour
voir si les documents dont ils ont besoin sont disponibles avant de se déplacer au PIC.
Elle permet aussi aux utilisateurs se trouvant hors du pays de demander un prêt. Cette
version permettra aussi d’accéder directement au document en « full texte » s’il est
public et consultable sur internet.
La Banque Mondiale, à l’instar d’autres organismes internationaux, s’est engagée vers la
numérisation, le stockage et l’organisation de l’information. Cette nouvelle donne ouvre
de nouvelles perspectives aux utilisateurs (internautes, …) dans la recherche et
l’organisation de l’information. Les chercheurs africains par exemple, pourront ainsi
accéder à des sources d’information diversifiées et fiables.
