                 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING


This agreement is made on XX/XX/XXXX between the following parties:

   1. International 49er Class Association (“49er Class”)

   And

   2. Club Name/Organising Authority (“Official Host”) of the 49er Class XXXXX
      Championship in City, Country.

Whereas, the parties agree:

This document serves as a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) between the 49er
Class and the Official Host of the 49er Class XXXXX Championship.

1. Venue/Location

   XXXX Sailing Club
   Sailing Club Address

   Course Location


2. Selection/Award

   The International 49er Class awards the XXXXX Championship to the Official Host.

   The event will be hosted at Venue from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX

   The Official Host takes responsibility to organize XXXXX Championship and shall
   respect its commitments as per the MOU


3. General

   Prior to implementation, the Official Host shall first receive approval from the
   International 49er Class with respect to all obligations, designs, activities and ideas
   including, but not limited to, marketing and branding work. This approval shall not
   be unreasonably withheld and is purely for the intent of ensuring the consistent
   quality and prestige of 49er Class events.


4. Confidentiality

   All parties to this agreement shall treat as confidential all the terms and conditions
   herein.


5. Sponsorship

   The Official Host will work in tandem with the 49er Class to raise sponsorship for
   the event. The Official Host will have XX% of all signage at the competition venue
   and is entitled to sell local sponsorships. Sponsorship negotiations shall proceed
   only with 49er Class pre-approved companies and in line with 49er Class
   sponsorship type packages. The Official Host will have the right to negotiate the
   local sponsorship and signage rights within their allocation.


6. Media Rights

   The International 49er Class is to be the copyright holder for all photographs/videos
   taken by the official media partner to the championship. At the end of the regatta all
   photographs and video should be given to the class on CD for the class files. The
   International 49er Class retains all rights to these photos/videos. (mandatory
   mention of the photographer/videographer will be given)

7. Finance

   An event budget, including, but not limited to the following, will be submitted by the
   Official Hosts to the 49er Class at least twelve months prior to the event. (See
   attached budget template)
       a. Income
                i.  Sponsorship
               ii.  Entry fee
             iii. Government/Other grants
       b. Expenses
                i.  Marketing and promotion
               ii.  Salaries
             iii. Infrastructure – land and water (with line item details)
              iv.   Travel
               v.   Catering
              vi.   Hospitality
             vii.   Championship fee of Euro 50 to be paid to the International 49er
                    Class Association for each boat entered
            viii. Other


8. Event Management
      a. Pre-event organization
              i.  The Official Host is responsible for all pre-regatta notices and
                  communications with all member countries of the 49er Class. A
                  secretariat adequate for these functions and able to communicate in
                  the English language will be established at least one year in advance
                  of the event date.
             ii.  The Official Host will present their event plans to the 49er World
                  Council at least 12 months in advance of the event date.
            iii. An event website, with the necessary event information as laid out
                  in the “49er Class Event Website Template” [Appendix A], is to be
                  hosted by the Official Host and to go live at least 9 months in
                  advance of the event date. The event website shall be capable of
                  registering entries and accepting credit card payments.
            iv.   Jurors will be determined in consultation with the 49er Class.

       b. Event Organization
             i.   Infrastructure. The Official Host will provide:
                    1. An adequately manned and equipped secretariat. It should be
                        open at all times during hours when it is reasonable that
                        Participants, Race Committee or Jury may require its services.
                        Office hours will be posted and observed.
                    2. Suitable rooms for the Race Committee, Jury, Protests, Media
                        and 49er Class officers with power, phone, internet access and
                        other office amenities.
                    3. Free wireless broadband internet facilities for all competitors
                        throughout the event
                    4. Running water, electricity/power supply, lighting, sanitation
                        (including garbage cleaning service, toilets and crew shower
                        facilities), and security.

                       5. At least one large screen display for the showing and display
                           of racing and activities as well as sponsor and venue
                           promotional programming.
                       6. Container space in the vicinity of the launching area.
                       7. Adequate launching/hoisting and other requisite operational
                           equipment.
                       8. Suitable location for sail repairs
                       9. Café/coffee lounge
                       10. First Aid facilities
             ii.      Onshore
                       1. Daily weather charts and weather briefing by a local weather
                           expert.
                       2. Free healthy snacks and lunch for all competitors and 1 coach
                           per country during the course of the event.
                       3. Prize giving dinner for participants, jurors, committees,
                           sponsors and 49er Class invitees.
             iii.     On the Water – the Official Host will provide:
                       1. Experienced and internationally qualified race management
                           teams with specific 49er experience.
                       2. Adequate personnel, boats and buoys to support the race
                           management team.
                       3. Two courses to be provided as per the standard 49er Class
                           Sailing Instructions and set by a dedicated course laying boat
                           equipped with radio, GPS, compass and wind gauge. Other
                           adequately equipped boats will be available to signal the
                           change of course.
                       4. Motor boat for 49er Class officials.
                       5. Motor boat for 49er Class and event sponsors.
                       6. 1 Motor boat for each course to carry spares.
                       7. First aid facility

9. ISAF Regulation

   This MOU is subject to ISAF requirements.


10. Governing Law

      a. This MOU and the subsequent Agreements, if any, shall be governed by and
         construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland.

      b. The official language of the 49er Class and all associated agreements is
         English.


                       Binding Memorandum of Understanding

This Memorandum of Understanding indicates the intent and agreement of the named
parties and becomes binding upon signature.

The event website will be designed as per the 49er Class Event Website Template and
contain the following information:

       1. Home page
       2. Description, event dates, etc.
       3. ISAF Grade
       4. Notice of Race
       5. Sailing Instructions
       6. List of entries/results
       7. Logistics – Visa, accommodation, shipping agents, etc.
       8. Organizational Chart with names and responsibilities
       9. Contact details – address, telephone, fax, email, etc.
       10. Weather information
       11. Registration and payment function
