New Profits in Our Overseas Shipholding Calls
Posted By Alexander Green On January 17, 2012 @ 1:35 pm In The Insider Alert

Yes, the market has gotten off to a good start in 2012. But our insider stocks are
 leaving it in the dust.

All of our positions are profitable. The entire portfolio is showing a double-digit
gain (excluding dividends) – and our average holding period is just 73 days.

Last week we added Overseas Shipholding Group (NYSE: OSG) to the portfolio.
It’s already up 19%. Raise your sell stop to $12 here.

Our Overseas Shipholding April $15 calls have almost doubled. Go ahead and sell
half your position to lock in some profits here. We’ll let the balance ride awhile
longer since we still have three months until expiration.

We have another winner in CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL). I expect the stock to
continue rallying up till February 15 when it announces quarterly results again.

Dollar Tree (Nasdaq: DLTR) is hitting a new 52-week high today. I expect that it
had an especially good holiday selling season and recent price action appears to
confirm it. We’ll find out for sure on February 20.

We have a 31% short-term gain in BB&T (NYSE: BBT). (Plus the stock went “ex”
another dividend on January 4.) Raise your sell stop to $25.50 here.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals (NYSE: VRX) is up on good volume today. It’s tacked
on seven points over the last 30 days. Raise your sell stop to $42.

And while Getty Realty (NYSE: GTY) initially stumbled out of the gate, it’s back
in the plus column again and paying a fat 6.7% dividend.

Even conservative, $41-billion Medtronic (NYSE: MDT) is pushing ahead and
showing an 18% gain. It, too, went “ex” a dividend payment this month.

The lesson here? When you buy the same high-quality, recession-resistant stocks
the insiders are loading up on, good things tend to happen.

I’m currently researching several other insider opportunities and will have a new
recommendation in your hands before long. In the meantime, each of the
companies below is worth buying at current levels.
