Dear Vineland Families,
Please make sure to set aside some time on Wednesday,
May 19th. We have an exciting evening planned for you:
PTA Summer Camp Fair beginning at 5pm with close to 30
summer camps attending! There will be raffles for FREE
summer camp sessions, discounted registration fees,
animal shows and cool science experiments. Use this
opportunity to decide where your children will be
attending camp this summer. The Summer Camp Fair is
FREE to attend and open to everyone in our community.
Please make sure to invite your friends and family.
4th and Final PTA Meeting will begin promptly at 6pm. We
will be electing parents for the EESAC committee (there
are two (2) positions available; if you would like to
submit your nomination, please make sure to send me
your name, child's name, and a short biography (years at
Vineland, ages of children, past involvement in the school,
work experience, etc.) and we will be electing officers for
next year's PTA board.
Music Program immediately following the PTA Meeting
with presentations by Vineland's talented students.
Light refreshments will be available beginning at 5:30pm
in the Cafetorium.

FINAL PTA GENERAL MEETING -
WEDNESDAY, MAY 19TH. Please mark your
calendar for the Final PTA General Meeting of this school
year. We will hold our final PTA meeting at 6p.m. and will
be electing our new board members for 2010-2011 as well
as filling vacant parent positions on the EESAC
committee for 2010-2011. Following our PTA
meeting, Vineland's talented musicians will present their
music program. Please make sure you don't miss it!

VINELAND PTA PARENT SURVEY - WE
WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Parents, please take a moment to fill out the PTA Parent

POLLO TROPICAL BENEFIT NIGHT -
TUESDAY, MAY 25TH 11AM-9PM.
Pollo Tropical has generously agreed to hold three
Benefit Nights for Region V and 20% of all sales will be
donated to the PTA. Money raised will be earmarked for
the Summer College Tour Institute Scholarship Fund (a
new and exciting summer program for middle school
students). Please support this great endeavor and have
Pollo Tropical for lunch or dinner on our designated day
of May 25th. Flyers will be coming home this week and
MUST be given to the cashier in order for us to receive the
20%. When you come for lunch or dinner on May 25th, you
will receive a coupon for $2 off your next visit! Any

YEARBOOKS ON SALE Make sure to purchase your
copy of the Vineland Memory Book. They are on sale for
$20.00 each. This is your chance to relive all of the
exciting events from this school year and others from last
year as well. Quantities are limited so be sure to order
yours before they're gone. Order forms are available in the
2010-2011 PTA COMMITTEE POSITIONS
Hospitality: Arrange hospitality/refreshments for PTA
functions as requested (Principal's Coffees, PTA meetings,
Special Trainings, Career Day, etc); Calls/emails
volunteers to provide food, drink, etc. and help set up,
serve, and clean up. This job can be held by one person,
or divided into two, where one would coordinate the
luncheons, and one coordinates the breakfasts. Summer
Duty - coordinates food donations/preparation/set-up for
the breakfast hosted by the PTA for the staff on their first
day back to school (approximately one week before
school begins). Keep PTA hospitality expenses within PTA
Budget; Submit reimbursement forms and appropriate
documentation to PTA Treasurer. Requirement: a
moderate level of involvement throughout the school
Pizza Sales: Place order with vendor every Monday;
make sure there are enough helpers for the sale on
Wednesday (2 at the Upper Academy and 2
at the Elementary). After sale, count the money, fill out
the deposit form and deposit in the main office PTA lock
box. Submit vendor invoices to PTA Treasurer for
School Store: Responsibilities include purchasing
supplies, staffing the store and maintaining the books.
Coordinate with the teachers. Requirement: a high level
of involvement at the beginning of the school year
followed by a moderate level of work through the
remainder of the year.
Grapevine Assistant: Assist editor by making copies for
distribution - copy, collate and distribute on a monthly
basis throughout the school year. Sends reminders to the
PTA board members, committee chairs, administration,
school counselors, student council teacher
representative to submit articles and advising them of the
Fall Fundraiser - Publicize and run this large fall fundraiser.
Organize large amounts of sales data, recruit work
groups to compile and place orders and organize
gift wrap on arrival to school. Follow up on any problems.
Good job for a team. A committee of several volunteers
with a chairman run this annual fundraiser to sell
wrapping paper and gifts. Coordinator obtains
information from company representative, provides
information via backpack mail to students, and
publicizes sale and delivery dates.
MANDATORY UNIFORM POLICY
REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR VINELAND K-8
CENTER. Uniforms are required for all students
attending class on a daily basis. The purpose of uniforms
is to provide additional opportunities for increased school
safety, minimize disruption, easily identify trespassers on
campus, instill pride and respect, and in assist you in
keeping clothing costs to a minimum. School uniforms
provide a sense of school identity and belonging in turn,
promoting academic excellence. The Vineland K-8
Center faculty and staff will enforce the uniform policy

Survey for Parents of Students With
Disabilities!The Florida Department of Education
conducts an annual parent survey designed to
provide them with information on how well
Florida's schools are supporting the involvement
of parents of students with disabilities. This
important survey is open to all parents of
children with disabilities receiving ESE services
from PK - Grade 12. This confidential survey will
be available in English and Spanish online at
www.esesurvey.com between February 1st and July
1st, 2010. Paper surveys will be available to
families who are unable to access a computer.
Parent Resource Guide 2009-2010 now
available. The 2009-2010 Parent Resource Guide is
now available online at

also linked from the Parent Portal and from the
Office of Parental Involvement website,

reformatted to create a "click-through" document
that allows the reader to access sections of
