A unique baby girl name is selected by people who desire to get away from

fashionable trends. Such people have strong individualistic streaks. Such

individualists have an outlook that since they have created the baby,

they are supposed to create the name. They are in search of a name that

anybody will like, but nobody has. The reason for choosing a unique name

is that the surroundings are becoming very similar and the society less

formal. Parents want to be original and creative in inventing a unique

baby name. For example, 'Lol' is a baby girl name abbreviated from 'Lots

of love'.

Creation of Unique Baby Girl Names

Flower names like Daisy or Columbine can be used to christen baby girls.

Color names like Gray or Azure are also apt. Inspirational themes like

Hope or Glory would be energizing. Different characteristics like

Patience may also be used. Sometimes, places of birth like Dallas or

Brooklyn are used. Alternative spellings are often employed. For example,

Ryann instead of Ryan or Delyia rather than Delia. A completely new name

can be formed by a novel introduction of a punctuation like placing an

apostrophe or a hyphen. Two existing names can be selected and blended in

an unusual mode. This is called the 'hybrid approach'. It has been

observed that feminine names are given considering soft and gentle

traits. The name must give a distinct identification regarding the sex.

Names like Lee or Leigh which suit either gender are now diminishing in

popularity. The trend towards selecting an exotic unique name is on the

rise. Some of the names have their origin in fiction or history.
