Aaron and Nick Carter are both said to be
"reeling" from the death of their sister.
Yesterday (February 1, 2012), it was
reported that Leslie Carter had died in
New York, aged just 25. Her family
requested privacy from the media whilst
they came to terms with the family tragedy.
The cause of death has not yet been
confirmed and a story from US Magazine quotes a friend of the Carter family as saying "The family
legitimately doesn't know what happened. They're still trying to find out."
Leslie Carter was an aspiring singer, like her brothers, Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys and the solo
artist Aaron Carter. Her single 'Like Wow' was included on the Shrek soundtrack in 2001, though
the album that she recorded for the Dreamworks label was never released. Aaron Carter, 24, is
reportedly "blindsided" by the news of his sister's premature death. Leslie leaves behind her
husband Mike Ashton, whom she married in 2008 and a 10 month-old daughter, Alyssa. The family
friend told the magazine "She loved her family, she loved her baby. She was happy stepping away
from the show business and just living happily with her family in Canada."
Leslie Carter, along with her brothers, Aaron and Nick were featured in a reality TV show in 2006.
The family show, The House of Carters was a fly-on the wall documentary style programme, which
showed the siblings trying to revive their musical careers.
