Brief Introduction
Two million views and more ....
Why should I listen?
I'm not saying you are an expert, but I know enough about traffic generation
to consider that getting a million visits a year is a goal
reachable.
I've done, I folded and more - with FREE traffic.
If you have not reached a million visitors a year, you should find this useful
report.
When it comes to generating traffic, many affiliates and other website owners
tend to stay glued to a comfortable routine. We often use a small
number of favorite techniques and rarely venture beyond.
I hope this report will encourage you to look beyond the techniques being used and
try a few more. Using a wide variety of techniques, will attract
new visitors from new places.
The wider your network traffic, more business will endure.
You may not use all the methods presented here. Choose
best suited to your site, your skills, interests and temperament.
All the techniques described here require work - but this is a GOOD
thing.
Many of your competitors are too lazy to do the job
required, so that when you do, your traffic will jump over them.
To make one or two of the things it describes, may have to go to Elance or
Rentacoder and hire a programmer. However, the vast majority of
techniques are relatively simple and free. Most of them require
time, not money.
About 95% of this report describes a solid foundation, strong -
techniques that build a solid business, long life. 5% said schemes. not
ignore these schemes. Sometimes they work brilliantly.
I like to think of search engines like my slaves free, working for me 24
hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2003 when I was seriously ill and
ranch run my business from the hospital, my websites operated as
magically, receiving thousands of visitors each day. I love the free traffic
search engines.
How to get traffic to your site is a HUGE issue. Whole books have been
written only for small aspect of it. This report is an introduction to
subject.
For most of the techniques, merely that there will be remembering him.
Please do not nod and think, "This I know." Take action. try
some of the techniques are not using.
Other websites use these techniques successfully so why not you?
At the end of the report is a brief list of resources that I generate traffic
recommend it.
This report is aimed at affiliates, but you do not have to be an affiliate for
find these tips useful traffic generators.
Traffic Tip # 1
You MUST have unique content and high quality, if you want traffic
long-term free from search engines.
This is the most important tip of all. Sadly, many owners is the
Web sites ignored.
Provide LOTS of useful content, information rich, keyword-rich
that the search engines and humans to find.
You know that search engines are clogged with dirt at a rate
alarming. The other day, I met a salesman who was boasting that
had more than 20,000 blogs - and he is not alone.
Consider the negative effect that gives this exponential increase in blogs and websites
of poor quality. The ancient sites and largest will become
inevitably more and more important and trusted by the search engines.
Having a big, well established and of high quality is a very sound investment
for their future.
These days, even Google webmaster guidelines advise
affiliates publish content "unique and relevant."
If you spend time thinking of ways to provide content
the really useful people to talk, you automatically end up with
amounts of free one way links to your site because the body will
recommend it even without asking.
I've been building web sites rich in information since I created my first
site in 1996. This method has served me extremely well and continues
so.
If your website helps solve people's problems, they will love you for it.
Traffic Tip # 2
Keep adding useful content fresh and relevant.
According to Google, about half of the 2,500 million searches
are done in a day are for single phrases.
S build more pages, each on a specific topic, the better
the chances that your site is found.
When it comes to keywords, think big. You want your site
be found by THOUSANDS of different phrases every month.
Then you can attract the best traffic-generating s page
money or page to sign up for your newsletter.
Also, search engines prefer sites that are adding fresh new
content gradually. Do not let your site is outdated.
The super affiliate James Martell says:
"My own rule of thumb is this: Add a minimum of 1 article per week,
preferably 2. Adding an article daily is euphoria and adding one every 6
hours, well, this is the best. "
Traffic Tip # 3
Choose a domain name easy to remember.
If you are launching a new site, choose a name that people remember.
Years ago, I visited a site called "forkinthehead.com" (fork in the head, note
the translator). Its logo is a man with a fork in the head. Sounds awful,
No?
However, all I needed to remember that site so rare was a visit
years.
You may not want to go that far, but at least ask yourself:
¿"People remember the name of my domain?"
In my four main sites, a large percentage of visitors are people who
have reminded the domain name and typed directly into the browser.
(Also I own a site built in 1996 that has a URL
totally impossible to remember, but that's another story.)
Try to choose a name that is not confused with others like it. You do not want
people type the name of your competitor when they are trying to find
your site.
NameBoy.com has a tool to help you choose domain names.
You can also find a surprising number of good domains deleted
(Expired) in Whois.net. These two tools are free.
Traffic Tip # 4
Buy also the wrong domain name.
If you think people can confuse your domain name to another
Similarly, try to buy as well.
I noticed that sometimes when newsletters mentioned
AssociatePrograms.com put the "s" in the wrong place and called it
"AssociatesProgram.com."
Even happened at a conference on Internet marketing that I went. The
He kindly mentioned my site, but with the wrong name. Go!
So when that wrong domain name was available, I bought it.
Now, if you mistakenly typed "AssociatesProgram.com"
will automatically be redirected to AssociatePrograms.com.
It occurred to me that people in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, who thought
that "programs" written "programs" may also have problems
write my domain name correctly.
So I also bought AssociateProgrammes.com. It also redirects the
correct domain.
A good domain name registry will make it much easier to redirect a name
domain to another. 000Domains.com is one that does.
Traffic Tip # 5
Make your domain easy to read - especially if it is. NET
Which of the following is easier to read and understand?
http://www.associateprograms.com or http://www.AssociatePrograms.com
See how using a capital letter at the beginning of each word makes the
second name easier to read - and easier to remember.
When I mentioned your domain name anywhere, ALWAYS present it to
the most readable. A good place to start doing this is in your signature
e-mail.
If you are unlucky enough to have bought the version. "Net" of a
domain name because someone was ahead for him. "com", help people to
remember your site by typing something like this ...
Ejemplo.NET
Being reminded helps you get more repeat visitors.
Traffic Tip # 6
Use appropriate keywords in image file names.
One of my websites gets hundreds of hits a month from people looking
images. I'm not sure how valuable are these visitors, but I did not have
do anything special to get them.
Google Images - http://images.google.com - makes it easy for people to search for
graphics
online.
To take advantage of this, when you choose the filename of an image on your
site, use an appropriate phrase, for example, "book-ends.jpg" if you are
promoting bookends.
Here's a tip I discovered ...
When I searched Google Images for "book ends" I discovered that the first
search result was for a page that contains a subject graph
books.
Instead, the page contained a link to "book ends" to a chart on subject
books on the second page. If it fits the design of your site, you may want
experiment with this technique.
I'm not sure how useful this image traffic, but traffic
ADDITIONAL you can get simply by choosing carefully
filenames of the images. Worth having.
Traffic Tip # 7
Do keyword research really serious.
If you want to get amounts of traffic from search engines, you need
find out the exact phrases that people type in those search engines.
There are free tools available for this, but they are not even as useful
as the most comprehensive payment tools.
For example, if you use the keyword tool for Overture
research, be careful, its results are unreliable.
As he likes to point to my Special Projects Manager, Jay Stockwell, the tool
Overture will show the same number of searches for all of these:
bikini girls
bikini girls
bikini girl
bikini girl
bikini girl
bikini girl
This obviously makes no sense.
The Overture tool is useful to give a quick guide, but not for a
serious investigation.
Here's a good tip from "Charlie" in our affiliate forum:
"The harder it is to find a certain phrase search (get
traffic), will have less competition in search engines (for that phrase). If a
tool keyword search is free and popular, how many
competitors will have to discover sentences there? "
Jay has spent hundreds of hours researching and analyzing search tools
keyword. He has built the best review site tools
Internet keywords - KeywordWorkshop.com.
Need to visit Jay's site if you are using search engine optimization (SEO
organic) or pay per click ads.
Traffic Tip # 8
Try this experiment for page titles.
Here's a good way to increase your traffic.
Go to Google and type in any phrase in the search box. Look at the titles
web sites in the top 10 positions.
Which ones catch your attention and tempt you to click on the link? Some are
terribly heavy, boring. Some are simply a list of words
key. Some are good. Others are crap.
Good titles are written for search engines and humans.
Now look at the titles of your site. S start with the most important page.
Rewrite it to make them more attractive.
Now go to Google and search for your site and ...
site: ejemplo.com
Consider the titles of the pages. If you have a large site created over the
years will be horribly surprised at how bad they are some of their titles
page.
Want to find some examples of good titles? Just go to Google
and do some searches. Do not focus only on their industry.
Type in all sorts of different phrases and study the titles that appear in the
top 10.
It will soon be brimming with ideas on how to improve the titles of your pages.
Also evaluate how tempting is the information in your meta tag
description can also help. Some browsers have this information
in their search results.
If you have a well established, may have written many of the titles and
its pages meta descriptions years ago, when I knew less about marketing
of what he knows now. If so, it is time to take another look.
Traffic Tip # 9
Organic SEO, a few key points.
Search engines are getting smarter. You can try to be more
smarter than them but it makes more sense to work with.
Gradually they improve to remove poor quality sites and give
bad rankings. So build quality websites containing material
genuinely useful to other people to want to link.
The basics of good SEO is quite simple. Here
has a very quick summary:
provide seekers need to understand what the theme of your page.
Find the keywords or key phrases and use them in appropriate title,
at the top of the page, in the introduction, throughout the article, in the
meta description, alt tags at the end of the article in the links in the
page, in bold or italic, and perhaps in a list on the page.
Use keyword phrases in the file names, for example: word1-
palabra2.html.
Use synonyms and variations of words naturally throughout the page.
When you link to your page s, use appropriate keywords in the anchor text
(Words about people click). Do this for all the links on their
site, and also the links from other sites to yours. Vary the anchor text.
For internal links, text is better to use graphic links.
Create a logical navigation system so that humans and search engines
may find the content of your site easily.
Get links from other sites to internal pages as your homepage.
This is only a brief glimpse of a great subject.
If you want an excellent and reliable advice on search engine optimization,
there is a place I recommend above all others.
Is the resource that professionals use - Stephen Mahaney and Planet team
Ocean. These guys do nothing but search engine optimization.
They are experts.
I've been a subscriber for years. Ocean Planet is a recommended resource
often it publishes a newsletter search engine optimization and a book
excellent which is updated every month so you can rest assured that
the information they are reading is updated.
Traffic Tip # 10
Submit to major directories.
The more quality links to your site has, the more impressed you
will the search engines.
Start with major directories like ...
Yahoo!
DMOZ.org
sbd.bcentral.com
... And continue ...
Gimpsy
Skaffe
Joeant
GoGuides
Business.com
SevenSeek
ThisIsOurYear
LookSmart (probably too expensive)
BlueFind
WowDirectory
Best of the Web
GeniusFind
Here's a good list of directories
http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php
Be sure to read the rules for each site carefully. This slows the
process but increases your chances of appearing on the list. You can stay
years, so it's worth taking your time to have their details correct.
You may want to find someone to outsource this task in a place like
eLance or hiring a student.
Traffic Tip # 11
Submit to niche directories.
Look for smaller directories, specialized in their niche. For example, if your
site is about a health issue, look for health-related directories.
How to find these directories:
Go to Search It! (It is a very handy search tool.)
Go to the Search Category, "Specialty Hubs and Directories"
Choose one of the 4 options in STEP 2
Read "Click Here for Information ..." assistance before proceeding
Complete STEPS 3 and 4, and then click on Search It!
Read the tutorial. It tells you what to do with search results
Get your search results. You should be able to find sites
nodal relevant, the subject, and directories that list your site. Some charge,
others are free.
Traffic Tip # 12
Distribute USEFUL articles to article directories.
Write articles and submit them to article directories. Make sure they are
Useful, interesting, not junk. Other websites will take them and use them in your
site.
If you added a link to your site in the box "About the Author" at the end of
article, you can get hundreds or thousands of links to your site. Also trigger the
reputation.
In writing the article you need a headline that captures the interest. You also need to
people a strong incentive to visit your site.
Here are some ways to do this:
Give people a link where you can get a free report.
Tell them they can subscribe to your newsletter.
Tell them to visit your site for Part 2 of the article.
Tell them to visit your site for a fuller version of the article.
The distribution of articles to directories is tedious and time consuming. Can
manually or to speed the process - and receive a manual
instructions very useful - if you use ArticleAnnouncer. It is expensive but worthwhile.
Another popular system of distributing articles is to use Article Marketer service
to do all the hard work. iSnare is another good one.
Here are some popular sites for the distribution of goods.
http://ezinearticles.com
http://www.goarticles.com
http://www.netterweb.com
http://www.articlefinders.com
http://www.articlecity.com
Another annoying thing in relation to this technique is that some owners of unusual sites
Articles published scrupulous without linking to your site. Jerks like these
should be punished.
However, the advantages outweigh the minimal disadvantages.
You can find a long list of sites to submit articles in this discussion
our affiliate forum:
http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/discus/ftopic9801.html
Some people publish an article on your site and a few days later he
send to article directories. I am cautious. I think that search engines
finally will be much tougher on duplicate content, so I think that a
safest approach is distribute items that are markedly different from those posted on their
site.
Traffic Tip # 13
Write articles directly to other sites.
Getting high quality links to your site is extremely important. Of
Ideally want links from sites of "authority" - sites that have many
links to them.
As well as read what experts say the search engines what they consider
actually do. A common tactic is to write articles using experts and
get it published in the related sites. When you do this,
get links to your site are beautifully designed - those links
come from a page that is about search engine optimization - which coincide
perfectly with the theme of your site.
For a browser, these links are much more important than a boring link
it's just one of many in a page a little mini-directory installed in a mini-site.
Traffic Tip # 14
Submit articles to newsletters that are archived online.
Submit articles to newsletters has been popular since the early days of marketing
online. In the niche of "internet marketing", the editors tend to be flooded
with offers to publish articles. Other fields are not as ridiculously
competitive.
You may have more success if you take time to establish a
relationship with a newsletter publisher. Also, if you are prepared to write a
Article exclusively for a newsletter, your offer is more likely to impress.
Subscribe to newsletters and study them carefully. Study files
online. The article offered must be genuinely useful.
Traffic Tip # 15
Brief advice to send newsletters and blogs.
A brief and useful advice in a newsletter archive can give you a link to your site
for many years - perhaps even a decade or more.
You can also submit tips to blogs.
Traffic Tip # 16
Include keywords in their profiles online.
When you create an online profile, or anywhere on their blogs, in forums or on sites
as LinkedIn - always use carefully selected key phrases.
This increases the chances that people will find, either via search engines
such as LinkedIn, via the site's own search engine.
The other day a friend, Phil Tanny, mentioned that he had started a forum. To try to
find it, I typed ...
Phil Tanny forum
... In Google. The No.1 search result surprised me. It was Phil's profile
OUR affiliate forum.
(The ranking can be changed by the time you read this.)
The links in the profiles are probably not very valuable in the eyes of
Google, but they are quick and easy to establish. Try on our forum:

You can find forums in your industry by going to Google and typing ...

Traffic Tip # 17
Get one way links and reciprocal few.
Reciprocal links are not as important as they used to be. It should be your
main strategy to generate traffic. Are still very useful, especially
when you have a new site in search engines.
Here's an article I wrote describing in detail how to get links
reciprocals.
For a complete overview on ways to get links, I recommend that
read this article from Bill Hartzer:
Linking Campaigns Lead to Online Visibility Increaser Stephen Mahaney offers a
wealth of information in this article:
12 Essential Strategies for Building & Structuring Inbound Links
(Both articles are excellent examples of experts who publish articles
other sites.)
Also, here is one of the many warnings from Google:
"Note that our algorithms can be distinguished from naturals links
those who are not. Natural links are links to your site to be
developed as part of the dynamic nature of the web when other sites
find valuable content and think it would be useful to your visitors. The
Unnatural links are links to your site placed there specifically to make
your site look more popular in the eyes of search engines. "
Source: http://sitemaps.blogspot.com/
The Google webmaster guidelines clearly state:
"Do not participate in link schemes designed to increase the ranking or
Page rank of your site. "
Traffic Tip # 18
Publish articles on your site and invite others to post on their sites, with a
link to you.
Some sites make it much easier than other sites reprint your articles. In the end
of each article on your site, post a note giving permission for people to
Article reprint assuming that the signature at the end of the article is also published.
(Caution: Although this technique apparently works well for those who
practice, I do not use. My goal is to have virtually unique content on my sites.
I wonder if the technique may not work as well in the future. Could be
wrong, but I think that search engines are increasingly clogged with
waste sites, so it will become tougher on duplicate content. The
sites that do not publish duplicate content will benefit, I think.)
Traffic Tip # 19
Post a vivid and useful newsletter.
Say you have 3,000 people a week - or month - visiting your site. The
Most of them are going to look one or two pages and disappear, perhaps not
never to return.
You need a way to persuade them to return.
Writing your own newsletter is an excellent way to increase repeat traffic. A
newsletter reminds readers that your site exists.
To encourage repeat visitors, you can tell your readers about new
added items to your site. You can also remind the articles
they may have happened. You can talk about a survey being done in their
site, a special report written interesting or new in your forum.
Whilst writing your newsletter, ask yourself, "Is this topic useful? What I can
make it more useful? "
If you are not very writer, you can outsource or simply publish
short notes that allow readers to know that your site has been updated. My
newsletters tend to be long, but yours does not have to be.
The newsletters increase their reputation, credibility and - best of all, you
given repeated opportunities to make a sale.
Another advantage of publishing a newsletter is that when you want to launch a second
or
third site, you can simply give a spectacular start mentioning
in your newsletter.
If you have not published a newsletter, find that the technique is much more
easier than you imagined.
A good, reliable publishing a newsletter is to use Aweber to distribute it.
Aweber removes the problems of publishing a newsletter.
Using a professional service like Aweber and a dual signature process gives
protection against spam complaints. Aweber has been in the market for
years, has an excellent reputation and one of the highest - if not THE largest - and
Successful delivery rates online.
Automatically manage subscriptions and unsubscriptions.
It gives a form you simply paste in your website to start collect email addresses, even
provides templates for newsletters. It is a
wonderful service. I use it for two of my newsletters and I highly recommend it.
It is much better and cheaper than a delivery service that also use.
Complexity has to change from one service to another. By inertia, you may lose
a significant percentage of readers if you have to switch to a new service.
So start with a well established company, reliable and long to be there
time.
Traffic Tip # 20
Send your newsletter to newsletter directories.
Google Search ...
ezine directories
ezine directory
newsletter directory
directories newsletter
... And send your newsletter to newsletter directories.
It takes time and probably will not get a lot of traffic with this
technique. If you have more money than time, outsource this task. Could hire a
student to do so.
Traffic Tip # 21
Post a mini-course.
This technique encourages visitors to keep coming back to your site.
Post a short course informative, short (or long) by email. Provide content
genuinely useful.
Start gradually, having earned the trust of their readers,
place affiliate links in the messages.
Also, give your readers reasons to visit your site, giving links to articles
related that's on your website. These pages can contain both links
affiliates and AdSense ads.
To retain the interest of their readers, the end of each post give them a small
puzzle telling what they will get the following message in the series.
The autoresponder service I use and recommend is Aweber.
With just one subscription, you can publish newsletters and courses
autoresponder from different domains.
Some smart marketers who use this technique does not send the mini-course
through email. Simply send a message announcing that a new part
is online.
Doing this helps to evade spam filters - the shorter the message, the more
likely to happen. It also gives an opportunity to get people
watch your affiliate links and Adsense ads on your site.
Traffic Tip # 22
Write testimonials worth using.
When you read an eBook or a newsletter or a product you find
interesting, write a note to the author. Sometimes the note will be published as
testimony, with a link to your site.
Joe Vitale has used this tactic a lot. For examples, do a search on
Google for "joe vitale" + testimonial
Do not go crazy with this technique. Remember that everything you write online
built - or harm - your reputation.
Traffic Tip # 23
Make useful contributions in the forums.
Join the forums in your niche and promote your site in your signature.
Play it safe. First read the instructions on the forum moderators or importuning
and members of the forum who have spent years there. Watch and learn.
Some forums allow signatures. Others do not. Some will not let phrases like
"See the link in my signature." Take care.
You also need to remember that many agreements specifically say sharp
to put a link on a forum is considered spam. Ignoring this rule can
you throw the affiliate program. You could lose any commission that would
cattle.
Build your reputation by writing genuinely useful comments.
If you think carefully about ways to provide content truly
HELPFUL which people will talk, you automatically end up with a bunch of links
Free one-way to your site and recommend that people without being prompted.
Do a Google search for

Traffic Tip # 24
Place free ads in the forums that allow it.
I doubt that an ad will produce much benefit, but they have a lot
time could try. Our affiliate forum has a section Announcement
Free.
As I write this, we are discussing remove this section because it has
abused her often.
The selfish louts litter the world in which we live.
Traffic Tip # 25
Make useful comments on email discussion lists.
You can subscribe to free list of email discussion and participate.
For Internet marketers, LED Digest is a good one. He has more than 40,000
subscribers. The moderator, Adam Audette, will not accept blatant advertising, and
to be cautious. Watch and learn before participating.
Traffic Tip # 26
Write press releases rich in keywords.
Write press releases, keyword rich and send them to places like
PRWeb, URLwire, BusinessWire, PR Newswire and Market Wire, publicizing its new
site or a new section of your site.
The press releases can give you a burst of traffic immediately and provide
long-term links to your site.
It may even be that journalists call you on the phone for an interview.
A few years ago, the main purpose of a press release was to capture the
attention of an editor or journalist. These days, often their goal is to go straight to
Internet users.
When writing a press release, keep the reader in mind. You must
capture the reader's attention very quickly, using phrases that attract
person reading the article and click on a link to visit your site - both the
home page as a page that has been specially designed.
Write the press release as if you were writing an article for a
newspaper.
This means you must have a short and concise introduction.
Write concisely.
Enter the most important point in the first sentence. Then write your second

someone link to your comment in the blog:

31 Useful Ways to Promote and Improve Your Blog.
Here is a brief, sometimes contradictory, Seth Godin:
54 Ways to get traffic to your blog.
Traffic Tip # 28
RSS: Provide people reading your blog.
Some people visit your blog to read. Others use an RSS reader on your
computer or a network-based service such as MyYahoo!
You can help these people who subscribe to your blog by adding a
special graphic small RSS, XML or MyYahoo! to your blog.
Some websites add a dozen or more of these special graphics into their
blogs.
For an extreme example scroll to the bottom of this page:
http://www.theinternetone.net
(Some of these graphics are to social bookmarking sites.)
Traffic Tip # 29
RSS to email.
Some people do not like RSS readers. Prefer to get their
contributions to blogs via email. You can help them do this by using
RSS to email services like FeedBlitz, Bloglet or Rmail.
Traffic Tip # 30
Remove broken links.
Remove all broken links on your site. The search engines do not like.
You can get free software to check the links - Xenu's Link
Sleuth - you can download and install.
One reviewer of links I've used for years and I recommend it
LinkAlarm.com. It is very easy to use.
If you are lucky enough to have built your site using Site
Build It! There will be found to have a free reviewer links which warns
broken links automatically. This is a wonderful bonus.
There is another good - free - way to check for broken links. If you create a
Site map using Google SiteMaps, one benefit is that Google will tell
s what page can not see and what links can not continue.
You can see where problems are occurring and fix them.
Use of Google SiteMaps is always a reliable way to ensure Google
knows all s page of your site.
Site Build It! also creates your Google SiteMap for you. Not have to lift a
finger.
Traffic Tip # 31
Attract new audiences cun their own podcasts.
A podcast is a sort of audio blog, distributed via RSS. Audio files
can be downloaded to iPods or any computer or MP3 player.
People can subscribe to their RSS feeds webcast and receive
automatically.
If you create your own podcasts, informative and useful, it can reach
whole new audience.
You need to have their podcasts listed in podcast directories like Podcast.net.
Be sure to use a title that captures the attention of people looking at these
directories.
You can find great podcast directories and popular and Feedburner.com
Apple's iTunes Music Store.
Blogging For Dollars If you manage to get a pamphlet entitled "WOW Your Audience
with Hottest New Technology: Podcasting. "Explains and describes what podcasting
simple
it is to create your own podcasts.
Traffic Tip # 32
Use a reliable web hosting.
Use a good and reliable web hosting. If your site is down when passing
visits Google's robot, may disappear from the index. Many sites
web hosting really "cheap" can end up costing too expensive.
When Jay was preparing to launch KeywordWorkshop.com,
thoroughly researched web hosts. He was really looking for a hostel
reliable, with good features at a reasonable price.
We are delighted with the service provided. Here is the web hosting
Jay chose.
If you have many sites use different web hosting companies. It is a
form of insurance in case of disaster. These companies often disappear without
warning.
Use backups.
Traffic Tip # 33
Discuss and give a twist to their internal links.
Consider how your pages are linked. Changing your linking structure
may increase or decrease the PageRank, which can give a little push
in the rankings of search engines for your most important pages.
It has a logical reason, smart, to do this. You want more links to their
most important pages, generating money and fewer links to the pages
less bright.
Some webmasters use the tag rel = "nofollow" the links to certain pages,
reducing the flow of PageRank to them. To me this seems risky -
Google probably would see it as a search engine directed behavior, not
to humans.
You can test for hours looking at different structures for liaison with the
Free calculator Mark Horrell, PageRank Calculator.
Traffic Tip # 34
Chase new fads and hot topics.
Some affiliates monitor popular TV programs and news items.
When a hot topic catches your attention as soon as you can create a
new page, a new blog or new website where they discuss the new
product or the new fashion.
These members who are moving so fast that manage to capture the rise
initial traffic.
Traffic Tip # 35
Chase new affiliate programs.
Monitor the new affiliate programs and create a page quickly, or a
blog or a new website to cover the new issue.
A good place to watch this is our affiliate directory
AssociatePrograms.com, where several new programs are added every day.
Traffic Tip # 36
Find new issues in their logs - and where the traffic comes.
Study your logs to see what phrases people type in search engines.
SEO specialist Brett Tabke says: "If your site is about 'oranges', but that
go looking for 'orange citrus fruit ", then you have to take to build
articles on 'citrus' and 'fruit' instead of the generic 'oranges.' "
Here's another reason why you MUST have a good tool to
display your traffic statistics. Need to know where your traffic comes.
You need to know which of his many experiments are the most traffic
effective. Then you will know where to allocate their time and energy - in the
winners.
If your hosting does not provide good statistics, one option is to use
AWStats. It's free.
If you feel comfortable letting Google know everything about your site, you can use
Google Analytics also, which is also free.
Traffic Tip # 37
Enroll in business associations to list their members online.
There may be trade associations in your niche sites publish their
members online. It is worth review.
Try a Google search for "business associations".
Traffic Tip # 38
Add a forum to your site.
A forum has great advantages and great disadvantages.
A popular forum can attract a large number of repeat visits to your site. Can
increase its credibility as an expert.
It may also involve a lot of work. Before deciding to launch one,
consider carefully who is going to moderate, seven days a week, 365 days
year.
Who will remove the spam? Will you have three moderators working on different
zones around the planet?
If you yourself will moderate the forum, who will take over when going around
few days of vacation?
The most effective way of launching a forum is adding one to a site either
people. Throwing one from scratch requires a lot of time and energy - and
usually money.
If you launch a forum, make sure you have a way to attract members of the forum
to your newsletter or the rest of your website. If not, simply take part
in discussions and go, wasting bandwidth without generating any profit
for you.
Traffic Tip # 39
Write free reports or white papers.
Write a free ebook or free report (you can use the freeware Open
Office to create a PDF format), and ask the site owners and
newsletter editors give it away.
Traffic Tip # 40
Write reports customizable.
Write a report that would allow other affiliates to your affiliate links in it
and give it away. What you need is a nice win-win agreement.
Here's an article that describes how:
http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/articles/213/1/Brandable-ebooks
Traffic Tip # 41
Submit your free ebooks to ebook directories.
Search Google "ebook directory" and "ebook directories" and list your free ebook
everywhere you can.
Traffic Tip # 42
Volunteer to be a columnist.
Find a popular site in your niche that you can appreciate having you as
regular columnist. Write tips, reviews live reviews
products, or anything that has to do with your niche.
Traffic Tip # 43
Offer to moderate a forum section.
A forum can quickly grow to appreciate his offer to moderate a section
thereof, in exchange for free advertising for your site.
Traffic Tip # 44
Do something funny.
Put weird, funny, in place and ask a friend to send a link to
BoingBoing.net for advertising to get the ball starts rolling.
If possible, try to ensure that the subject of the article is related to its
niche. Remember that you want traffic to your site.
Cory Doctorow of blog BoingBoing.net says the blog receives 1.7 million visits
a day.
(Source: http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2006/05/01/1146335641312.html).
Report on a link to BoingBoing is very simple.
Traffic Tip # 45
Be outrageous or controversial.
Here's a tip from Russell Beattie of traffic RussellBeattie.com:
"Take on Apple. Writing something bad about Steve Jobs or one of its new
products is the surest way to put fans in a state of fury.
Two days later I will have more than 2000 individuals visiting this comment
iPod Photo, over 52 comments and lots of emails. This is what is
expected, of course, but two or three times I've done and obtained such
response, still surprises me. "
Mark Daoust says: The Surprising Truth About Ugly Websites, an article published
Site-Reference.com recently attracted 200,000 unique visitors in less than
24 hours. Initially it was reported on Slashdot, and subsequently reported
hundreds of blogs and forums, and thousands of new websites added a link to
article.
Traffic Tip # 46
Make it easy for people to make famous - label (tag) your blog.
Sometimes at the end of an article on a blog will see a link that says something like:
"Did you enjoy this article? Put as bookmarks in Del.icio.us"
O
"Digg this article"
"Put your favorites on ..."
Providing these links makes it very easy for readers to spread the word
regarding your article.
Some owners provide a selection of blogs and social networking links
or graphics at the end of their articles.
Here is an example where the author has given its visitors "Sharing and
Enjoy "(tag) the article:
9 Tips in Life That Lead to Happiness
To find more examples, try a Google search for "Digg this
article ".
Social bookmarking sites:
http://del.icio.us
http://myweb2.search.yahoo.com
http://www.furl.net
You can see a long list of these sites here and free code you can add to the
template of your blog and make tagging easier.
Here's another long list of social bookmarking sites.
Using a service like Technorati attracts people to your blog.
You tag your blog with a tag such as "pet food". Anyone
Technorati has been subscribed to that tag will be notified each time you make
a contribution in his blog about pet food.
Social bookmarking sites allow you to share your bookmarks publicly,
tags to allow others to find.
If people who visit these sites decide your pages that are worth
shared, the will as favorites and tags so that other people
can find them.
You can also share an RSS feed of their favorites. When you add
a favorite, they know about it automatically.
If you take the time to create genuinely USEFUL collections of bookmarks, the
People are more inclined to use them.
The Internet community is just beginning to realize the enormous potential
who has the use of social bookmarking to get high quality links to
your site from authority sites. Sean Wu explains exactly how to do
in his ebook Tag and Ping.
As Sean explains, there are basically two types of tags - the ones you put in your
blog and putting the social bookmarking sites.
You can create what he calls a "network of authority sites."
For maximum effectiveness, he recommends you do both.
This is my advice: If you are setting pages of "authority" in social sites
Bookmarking, do it carefully. It's a bit like entering a new forum
not know the rules. DO NOT spam on these sites. Create pages that contain
relevant and useful content. Then get links to those pages. Sean tells
how.
It will save a lot of time figuring out how to do if you get the book
Sean.
Traffic Tip # 47
Get it mentioned in 440 newspaper websites.
Sounds like a dream, right? You put a text on your site and 440 newspapers
quick link to your blog.
That's how it works ...
Technorati has teamed up with Associated Press (AP). First, you put a
comment on his blog on a topic of news from AP. When readers
visit an AP member AP Hosted Custom News use, you will see a module
AP articles presenting "Five More Blog" just to the right of
article text, dynamically managed by Technorati.
"Additionally, when readers click on an AP article, Technorati
return 'Who's Blogging About' (Who's Blogging About ") that article. Now
if you have a comment about an AP story, you can get it
mentioned in this module, simply linking to the AP news URL, "
Technorati says.
Here are the details: http://technorati.com/weblog/2006/05/107.html
Please note: The Box "Top Five Most Blogged About" is VERY
SMALL. The major emphasis is in the name of your blog, (NOT the title of his latest
comment). Thus, to obtain full advantage of this, you need a name for your blog
that truly captures the attention.
Traffic Tip # 48
Upload your pictures. Label (tag) your photos.
As it says Technorati, if you want your photos to appear in the pages of tags
Technorati ', Flickr or join Buzznet, two online communities to share
photos and put your photos there. "I just tag them and set to be made public
and will appear in the pages Technorati Tag. "
Sometimes if you're doing a Google search, links to photos
uploaded to Flickr appear in search results, because of the words
key caption. Here there are all kinds of possibilities for promoting their
site.
If you browse the tagging, the bookmarketing and social networks, you will see a link
leads to another and another and another ...
The challenge is to make the most of this opportunity to lose an amount
enormous time.
Traffic Tip # 49
Use assemblies.
If people see something wrong with your site, often they will tell others. You can also
notify newsletter editors and owners of blogs and suggest they mention the
mounted in their midst. For example, Jim Crawford tells us how to make a work
musical with a mouse.
http://crawforddirect.com/laugh.htm
Some tips for using mounts.
Traffic Tip # 50
Create "link bait" deliberately.
The bait for links (or links) is a web site content that other people
ties voluntarily. Here is an example.
Do a search on Google for "link bait" for more examples.
Traffic Tip # 51
Syndicate your material.
Syndicate your material to other sites. Create a content syndication feed (RSS
feed) and include a link to your site. Use PHP rather than Javascript to ensure that
seekers read their headers and links.
You can also syndicate your articles or tips using a script available due
a well-known programmer, Will Bontrager.
Not have to have a blog to publish your material via RSS.
Traffic Tip # 52
Position yourself as a personality or expert.
If you position yourself as a personality or expert in a particular field,
enjoy a number of advantages, one of the most important to you
can help you get links without asking. Also build
confidence, which helps to encourage people to buy on your site.
The position as a personality or expert - or both - is much more
challenging to build a mini-site anonymous, but the rewards can make
worthwhile.
It is also a way of ensuring the future of your business, because it makes your site
stand out from the hundreds or thousands of other sites in your niche.
Once you start getting a little publicity, the people who write books or
Articles will want to interview him. The resulting publicity leads to more interviews ...
has a nice snowball effect.
This is an article by Matt Bacak that contains some tips:
Become a Recognized Authority in Your Field - in 60 Days or Less!
Traffic Tip # 53
Create a high profile on Amazon.com.
This advice is for authors.
Authors can enroll in Amazon Connect and take advantage of the millions
visitors from Amazon. If done correctly, you can create entries in
dozens of different sites that are directed to a page that links to your website.
Create a blog. Create a Profile. Check books. Create a list "Listmania".
"Tag" dozens of keywords, creating lots of trails to your Profile,
which has links to their sites.
Authors with at least one book for sale on Amazon.com are eligible for
AmazonConnect participate.
Explore the tremendous possibilities. It's free.
To learn more about the program and register, visit
www.amazon.com / connect
Here's an example - author's profile Bob Baker.
Traffic Tip # 54
Combine joint ventures and email capture.
The e-book authors do joint ventures (companies or agreements
sets) with website owners and publishers of newsletters, not just for
sell products, but also to get a huge increase in visitors to
your website and collecting email addresses.
Consider how most ebook authors do joint ventures.
Write a book or create a product, contact a few dozen editors
bulletins giving them a copy for review and ask them to promote the book
by a generous share of the profits.
Depending on the quality of pre and sales letters, 90 to 99%
people will come to the site without buying anything.
What dreadful loss of hard-earned traffic!
The more astute marketers will create a capture page or email
NameSqueeze.
Giving away a free report that will be useful, or a mini-course. If visitors want it, the
way to achieve this is by giving the email address.
Your free report or mini-course on promoting the book.
It is extra work, but this technique captures many more email addresses (for
get more repeat visits) and increases the number of sales.
John Reese uses this technique brilliantly to promote your newsletter and CDs.
You can see it in action here.
I am an enthusiastic subscriber because I want to watch closely what does John.
Traffic Tip # 55
Try advertising offline.
Try experimenting offline advertising in newspapers and magazines in your niche.
Tantalize
people to respond, offering a free report or mini-course.
You may have a better return on investment by focusing on collecting
e-mail addresses, rather than trying to sell directly to the
first page of your site.
Traffic Tip # 56
Put a link in the "sources" from Yahoo! Answers (Yahoo! Answers).
In Yahoo! Answers, people who respond provides answers for free.
Answer a few questions. In their responses, you can list "sources"
(Links) for details.
The "asked" to vote on a concrete answer as "Best Answer" and
that response is given a special prominence. Other users can also
to vote.
If you click on the "Report Abuse" and check the available categories will see that the
"Advertisements" are banned. However, I have recognized some links
sources affiliated stations.
Instead of putting an affiliate link, I think it would be more useful - and natural - link
with your own website, perhaps a page to sign up for your newsletter or a
page offering a free report.
Traffic Tip # 57
Get links from eBay.
Open an account with eBay and their 'About Me', link to your website.
Read the eBay links policy before you create your page:
http://pages.ebay.in/help/policies/listing-links-aboutme.html
Some affiliates also create special reports that contain information
genuinely useful - and affiliate links - and sell them on eBay, usually for a
very low price as a dollar or so. I have no experience with this. You must perform
your own research.
Traffic Tip # 58
Get links from AdSense.
Did you know that AdSense is a discussion group Adsense Help?
You can go there, answer any questions and provide a link to your site
end of your message.
Some people offer genuinely useful responses. Others only put some
few words as an excuse to present the URL of their site.
No need to be Einstein to figure out which method is most effective.
Traffic Tip # 59
Put thoughtful comments on blogs.
AskDaveTaylor.com Dave Taylor said:
"Add your discsiones thoughtful comments. Sometimes, when appropriate,
liaison with their own articles, but sometimes add their own
comments simply to participate in the discussion and, yes, gain some
visibility in their market. "
The selfish louts distort this advice and add crap to blogs
polluting the global village. Where in tar and feathers when
need?
Traffic Tip # 60
Add content 'sticky'.
The content tacky (sticky), says Wikipedia, is website content:
".. That has the mission to make a user returns to that particular website. The
Webmasters use this method to build a community of regular visitors
a website. "
Chats, forums, web mail, internet games, weather, news, horoscopes
and recipes are examples of this type of content.
This is a HUGE issue. Try a Google search for "sticky content".
This technique works brilliantly for most websites.
Look for opportunities by which to encourage people to add free content
to your site.
On the other hand, remember that this content is not just words. They can be photos,
audio and video.
Traffic Tip # 61
Add a classified section in place.
It will make you rich, but can generate a small profit and attract extra
new visitors if you put a classified section in place.
EPage.com, Brad Waller makes all this easy.
Traffic Tip # 62
Social networks (social networking).
Some social networking sites like MySpace have many millions of
users and are growing rapidly. MySpace really get traffic
mass - 38.4 million unique visitors in April 2006, according to Nielsen / NetRatings.
Because these sites have millions of users, you can ensure that
innovative affiliate make money with that traffic.
Good luck!
This article will give you some ideas:
Making friends - and money - on MySpace
You can find a list of social networking sites here.
If you find out how to take full advantage of this opportunity, I will be happy
to hear from you.
Traffic Tip # 63
Create your own fan club.
This is something that can work in certain businesses.
I visited a site the other day and saw a link saying "Join my Fan Club."
Curious, I clicked on the link and took me to Frappr where you can invite people
to join your "Group Map" or "Friend Map" to see where they live.
If you have your Friend Map will help website visitors to feel they are part of
a community and help them remember your site.
Try the link "See Where we live" to ignite the curiosity of people.
Traffic Tip # 64
Effective PPC advertising.
Create special pages for payment traffic.
If you are using tips No.1 and No.2 - providing much fresh content,
of high quality - there is great risk that your payment will distract visitors
with free content. Too many of them are likely to click around,
read a lot of information and go away without buying anything.
When you are paying for traffic, can not allow this happen. It
essential to have a high conversion rate.
Thus, for paid traffic, create pages without distractions or special mini-sites without
distractions.
Need to focus the attention of visitors in the affiliate product link or
in the form to receive the newsletter or mini-course.
If your conversion rate is high enough, you can buy advertising on
Google's AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, MSN AdCenter and search engines
pay per click.
Among all the options, Google's AdWords is a great favorite.
However, there are plenty of problems.
If you do things right, AdWords works brilliantly. If you do things wrong,
can lose money quickly.
AdWords specialist Perry Marshall has written a free email course.
If you read it you will prevent costly mistakes.
You can find out more about this free course here:
5 days to success with Google AdWords
The pay per click advertising is also an excellent way to test the rate
conversion of your website. You can buy a bit of traffic and experience,
changing the title page, introduction, the graph, presale, etc, to see
which version gives the ratio sales / visitors higher.
You can find out more about pay per click search engine at:
PayPerClickSearchengines.com.
Traffic Tip # 65
Buy ads in newsletters.
People reading online newsletters often go fast, do not read
carefully, so you need an ad that catches their attention.
Rather than simply advertise your website or affiliate product, send the
people to a page where you offer a free report or mini-course in exchange for
e-mail address.
You can get more impact for your money if you do this. Instead of building the
business of the seller of the product that is an affiliate, you are building your
business.
An expert in this technique is called NameSqueeze marketing veteran
Jonathan Mizel, who sold on the Internet long before most of us
not even know existed.
When you subscribe to his newsletter get access to a large database
information and marketing ideas incredibly useful.
Traffic Tip # 66
Buy text links - carefully!
Consider buying text links on other sites, such as in
Linkadage or Text Link Ads. However, be aware of what the engineer
Google Matt Cutts has clarified on his blog in the sense that Google is
sites adversely buying text links.
Matt argues that anyone who is selling text links should put
rel = "nofollow" on links.
One option is to arrange purchases directly links to other sites and avoid
that there seem to be buying links.
Even better, think of innovative ways to get published anywhere else
an article containing a link to your site.
Traffic Tip # 67
Advertise in less obvious places.
Find other sites, less obvious, to advertise online. Experiment and see what
occurs.
For example, this article describes how CommonTimes.org experimented with
BlogAds ads, using flashy ads. The article shows you the
announcements and reports of the different rates of clicks collected:
Using BlogAds to Promote Your Web Site
For people in a hurry, this is the main lesson learned:
"Basically, we found that customize the advertising content to the site
where we were announcing was not enough. We needed something unique, and to
times - in your face. "
In his Online Marketing Letter # 88 Jonathan Mizel published a report "Paid
Advertising Resources for 2006 "which describes the resources your company and its
customers have been using successfully.
The document is for paid subscribers only.
Traffic Tip # 68
Create web-based software, free.
Create user-friendly software, such as a mortgage calculator or a calculator
return on investment (ROI). Tell other sites, newsletters and forums and ask
bond.
This tactic is commonly used by optimization experts
search engines.
It may be easier than it seems. His work can only produce the IDEA.
You can hire someone to create software Rentacoder.
Traffic Tip # 69
Create downloadable software.
Create free downloadable software that contains links to your site, your newsletter, its
affiliate products, or at all.
Traffic Tip # 70
Get publicity for your downloadable software.
Submit your software downloadable software directories such as Download.com.
Traffic Tip # 71
Create a funny video - and a transcript keyword rich.
Create your own video and upload it to Google Video.
You can be a lot easier than you think. A simple way is to use the
video from your digital camera, edit it using Windows Movie Maker and save the
wmv file format, which is one of the formats accepted by Google.
You can submit videos electronically to Google Video, assuming you have the
necessary rights (including copyrights, trademarks, rights of
advertising and any other relevant rights for your content).
Enter your domain name in the video.
Get a few friends link to your funny video from their blogs. If
funny enough, others will tell their friends and so on ...
You can also send the transcript to Google.
Google says:
"Users should be able to find your video more easily if you add a
transcript to each video file uploaded via the Video Status page. It
so if you prefer the format of the transcript is encoded temporarily
recorded as a. txt. "
You want to include appropriate keywords in your transcript - so
make sure the keywords are saying in their video.
Google Video FAQ
Policy guidelines
Video transcripts
On YouTube you can upload a video to your mobile phone or PDA. Can
"Tag (tag)" the video with appropriate keywords.
You can use almost any video format.
This is how the author and musician Bob Baker sees opportunities:
2006, The Year of Internet Video: Get Ready
The article includes a long list of websites that will host their content in
free videos.
Traffic Tip # 72
A signature line is important - honest!
This advice is very basic, yet he continually surprised me the
apparently experienced many vendors do not use ALL the time.
Add a signature line at the end of every email you send - all the world.
Here's why:
I receive many messages, and I am frustrated when I receive cryptic emails
half know people saying things like ...
"Did you have time to take a look at the ebook?"
John.
I have to stop and think, "Who is John? On what was his book?"
Where I filed when I downloaded your ebook? In a file based on its
NAME, not "John".
Add a signature line in each email ...
1. Reminds people of the name of your website. It helps you remember your site.
2. Give people a link you can click, it facilitates and increases their
chances of getting visitors.
3. It may be tempting to extra visitors, especially if you give them a reason to
visit the link, as a new item or a free report.
I use Eudora and Gmail. In both, you can place multiple companies and choose the
like with just two clicks. Most of the time, just use default firms
- No extra clicks needed.
Put things easy to people who receive your messages - and help them become
memorable.
Traffic Tip # 73
Think viral. Where is your backend product?
If you write an ebook or report, add a viral marketing aspect.
For example, have your ebook is the "Volume One". Readers to send a
site, forum or blog to discuss Volume Two. Perhaps on that page you could
to a simple survey, asking what they would like to see in Volume Two.
You could offer a discount or a special report as a bonus if you
tell a friend about Volume One You can find striking examples of viral marketing here.
Traffic Tip # 74
Email This Page to a Friend.
Add a link "Email This Page to a Friend" in its pages. A good
programmer should be able to do this easily.
Traffic Tip # 75
Add to Favorites.
Put a link "Add to Favorites" on your pages. You can not take much
extra traffic, but every little bit helps.
Traffic Tip # 76
Start an affiliate program.
Start your own affiliate program and get hundreds or thousands of affiliates
spreading the word about your product and your site.
The simplest and cheapest is to use ClickBank.
One drawback to using ClickBank is qe many vendors who use it do not know
who are their members and have no way of contacting them.
In addition, ClickBank does not offer sophisticated statistical. You can solve these
problems by combining ClickBank with Adrian Ling's software,
Easyclickmate, Lite or Pro
If you have advanced beyond the ClickBank stage, here are two options for
Affiliate managers:
A) Shawn Collins has experience both as an affiliate and affiliate manager. Its
Pay for Performance book is a good, solid introduction to start
your own affiliate program. It was published a few years ago. You can get
a second hand copy on Amazon for a few dollars.
B) At the end of June 2006, Anik Singal of Affiliate Classroom launched The

Traffic Tip # 77
Make it easy for journalists to write about you.
Check your "About Us". Do you provide any information that
need a reporter to write about you - and contact information up-to-
date so that the journalist may contact you to ask questions?
Is your "About Us" soft and boring? If so, discard it and create a
new, vivid and fascinating.
Provide a media kit containing some fascinating snippets
information about your business.
Bonus Tip # 1
Get free advertising offline.
Many affiliates are totally ignorant of offline advertising. Perhaps you can
persuade your local newsletter to write an article about you. I've done.
Here's a tip from Bill Hartzer:
"Get free publicity for your website and your business. Jeff Crilley, a journalist
television Emmy Award-winning, tell you how to write a press release
'Killer', how to come up with ideas which media coverage is guaranteed, how
have a press conference that the media will love, and how to keep
journalists to come back for more. I have used many of their methods
get lots of media attention for some of my websites and
customer sites, and using the media to get free publicity is a
wonderful way being news, get links, and articles in major publications to get online
written on your site. "
Another valuable site for tips on getting free publicity is
PublicityHound.com. For those who seek publicity, the site's free newsletter
worth having it.
Put your URL on your business cards, stationery, shirts, hats,
stickers to the bumpers. Make your message really remember.
Mounts crazy offline can work wonders. Here is an example of one to one
canine concert where the music is emitted at a level that only dogs can hear.
It was organized to promote a book by Joe Vitale
The Stunt That Made the Dogs Dance
If this madness mocks and thinks it's ridiculous not to be so heavy.
You are a salesperson, remember? The person responsible for this madness, Joe
Vitale, probably earns his salary multiplied many times. Follies as
This can generate traffic and revenue.
Bonus Tip # 2
Remember your other websites.
If you are launching a new website, one of the fastest ways that
search engines find and index it is to get a link to a page with a
High PageRank or a large site, with well-established movement.
Does this sound like somewhere you already have? If so, link to your site in a new
relevant way.
Do not provide a link for each page. Search engines like links will take it
excessive cross. Pair them is unnatural.
Moving forward ...
What will you really traffic.
Once you get more visitors, what will he do with them? It makes no sense to spend
much time and effort to attract more visitors if it will go quickly without buying
no.
If you can increase your conversion rate just a little bit, say 1% to
2%, you double your income. So think carefully about the
impression that your site creates and look for ways to improve it.
Also, consider the paths visitors take through your site.
Imagine them landing on ANY page. What will they see? Where it is likely
to click next? Is that what you really want to do?
