Super Bowl Commercials
What do You See? The Super Bowl Match or The Super Bowl Commercials?
One of the many pleasures of the Super Bowl has always been the memorable television
advertisements. Super Bowl ads are known for a certain style and an over-the-top approach that has
been used in amusing and astonishing ways to sell products. These advertisements had better be
attention grabbing, because they are very expensive, and often are never shown again.
Thirty seconds of advertising time cost up to $4 million due to the tremendously large audience that
typically averages over 100 million viewers. However, to commercial advertisers the cost is worth it.
These ads can sometimes generate more publicity than the actual football game itself. For many the
joy they get out of watching advertisements during the Super Bowl is reason enough to sit through
the whole game.
Advertisers still appear to be willing to pay top dollar during the Super Bowl since a massive
audience is virtually guaranteed, regardless of which teams are playing. Advertisers realize this is
the one event where people will actually watch commercials.
Each year the commercial spots get more and more expensive letting big name companies take the
lead and leaving smaller brand names behind. As the years go on, smaller companies are often
dominated by big companies famous for their Super Bowl ads.
Some polls actually show that more people watch the Super Bowl for the ads than for the game
itself. Are you one of those people? Participate in the survey and have the chance to win a prize.
