UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER: Monday, November 5th 8:00 a.m. Room 300

SENIORS
PRIVATE SCHOOLS: Seniors applying to private colleges MUST see their counselors by December 3rd for letters of recommendation.
SANTA MONICA COLLEGE: Throughout the month of November there will be an SMC counselor available in the Career Center on
Tuesdays. She will be next available to answer your questions on November 6th in Room 292.
SCHOLARSHIPS: November Scholarship opportunities are available in House C.
PRESIDENTIAL CLASSROOM: Applications available from Social Studies teachers beginning November 6th.
ATTENTION CLASS OF 2008: Another Senior opportunity is yours for the taking. This year’s Senior quote question for the yearbook is
“What is your most memorable moment at Beverly?” Be as specific as possible but please limit your response to 30 words. Be creative and
precise. You have until Friday, November 9th to turn in a typed quote to Room 251 without a $2 late fee.
NHS: All Senior members of NHS, please come to a meeting on Wednesday, November 7th during lunchtime in Mr. Lee’s room to
discuss the upcoming service project.
AFRICAN AMERICAN SENIORS: There is a new common application for all historically Black Colleges. If interested, you can visit the
website at www.eduinconline.com or see Mrs. Hale in House C for more information.
USC: The representative will be here on Friday, November 9th at 9:00 a.m. in Room 300. Disregard previous dates & postings.

JUNIORS & SENIORS
CAHSEE: The Exam will take place on Tuesday, November 6th for ENGLISH and Wednesday, November 7th for MATH. Both tests
begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. so please arrive 15 minutes beforehand. The test will finish at 12:00 p.m.
BECOME A BEVERLY BUDDY: The first meeting will be on November 8th in Room 300.

ALL STUDENTS
GET READY FOR WALK TO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY!: On Wednesday, November 7th at 8:30 a.m. BHHS is meeting at Whole Foods
on Crescent to walk to school in order to promote good health, physical activity & traffic reduction. Community service and/or orange
tickets will be given. See you all there!
PICTURE PACKAGES ARE HERE: If you bought a packet please come to House C during Nutrition & Lunchtime ONLY!!
FALL PLAY: Read your Darwin! Read your Bible! Come and see the debate over teaching evolution in schools brought to life on the Salter Theater
stage in BHHS's fall play "Inherit the Wind". Tickets are on sale at the student store for $8 for students and $12 for adults, and are also available at
the theater on show nights starting at 6:30 p.m. each night. The show runs November 14th-17th at 7:00 p.m. Don't miss out on a fantastic show,
get your tickets today!
MORNING SERVICES: Will take place every Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. in Room 234. Please bring your Teffilin, Kippah & Siddur. Kosher
breakfast will be served. Bring a friend!

POETRY WORKSHOP: every Tuesday during lunch. Learn how to write poems using different poetic structures and workshop your own work
among your peers. Mr. Chang, Room 119 at lunch.
LAW SOCIETY: Will present guest speaker Attorney Arthur Barens on Tuesday, November 6th in Ms. J’s Room (206). We will begin promptly at
1:05 p.m. Bring your lunch. All are welcome.
SPEAK ANOTHER LANGUAGE & LIKE TO WRITE?: Submit to Voices Around the World! Send us your prose, poetry, short stories, humour, and any
other original work (in the foreign language along with it’s English translation). Check with your foreign language and/or English teacher for submission
forms. Deadline for all writing and artwork is December 6th.
U.S. ARMY: will be on campus in the Career Center on November 6th & 7th during lunch time. This is your chance to meet army representatives and
ask questions.
CREATE–A-GREETING CARD SCHOLARSHIP: All students who are legal residents of the U.S. are eligible to apply for a $10,000 contest. You must
create a holiday card, birthday card, or all-occasion greeting card. One application allowed per person. To enter the contest register at
www.gallerycollection.com Look for the scholarship page on the site and complete the online application. If you have questions see Mrs. Hale in House
C. Deadline to apply is January 15TH, 2008.
VOICES AROUND THE WORLD: Mandatory meeting in Room 238 on Wednesday, November 14th during lunch. We will be finalizing editorial staff
SAFE JOBS FOR YOUTH MONTH: Create a Poster or Create a 30-second Video highlighting job safety and health for teens and you could win a cash
prize ranging from $200 - $400. Poster deadline is January 14th, 2008 and the Video deadline is February 15th, 2008. For details and entry forms
visit the website www.youngworkers.org Information sheets available in House C. This contest is sponsored by the California Commission on Health
and Safety and Worker’s Compensation and The California partnership for Young Worker Health and Safety.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
WORRIED ABOUT GLOBALWARMING?: Want to help save our earth? Then come to the Green Club meeting on Tuesday, November 6th in Ms.
Utley’s room. S302
ALL CLUBS: Club sponsors, if you had a booth at Normapalooza you must send someone to the Student Store to count tickets before the deadline of
November 7th. Please bring your fundraising packet and any receipts for reimbursement. Money raised will not be transferred into your club’s account
until all paperwork is in.
SKI & SNOWBOARD CLUB: Please come to a mandatory meeting Today in Mr. Batcheller’s room #371. We’ll be discussing future trips.
CHRISTIAN CLUB: Wazup. C.C. is happening on Wednesday in Room 202. Look for people with C.C. T-shirts & say Hi!
JEWISH CULTURE CLUB: Meets every Wednesday at lunch in Room 234.
MOSHIACH CLUB: Every Friday at lunchtime in Room 404.
BORED IN PHOTOGRAPHY?: Join the club! Beginning students who want to learn come to Room 292 at lunch on Tuesday, November 6th.
ANIME CLUB: Now meets three times a week on Monday, Wednesday & Friday in Mr. Bowers’ room S405. Fun times. Otanoshimini!
HDC JEWISH CLUB: Meets in Room 104 every Monday. Lunch will be served.
