hotel in Bemidji but still seeking one in Brainerd Lakes area and Duluth that will work within their
price means. Would like to be contacted by properties in those 2 areas to discuss FIT pricing for
their MN packages.
Note 12/29/2010 NTA 2010 - Met w/Alan in Perfert Match. No present motorcoach tour to MN but wants to add one. Mary Ann
Developed a 2011 FIT fly/drive to include Brainerd. Trying to finalize hotels in Bemidji, Brainerd,
and Duluth. No particular price range. Chris V. in our office has been working with him on this.
Note 6/16/2009 Previous visibility with City Package for Twin Cities not found in new tariff. Pressing Alan for Chris
assistance in finding out why. All other corrections and updating were included in state and
regional itineraries.
Note 6/10/2009 Pow Wow 09: Met with Alan Puana, who's the new contact at ATI for the AAA/CAA program. Chris
Several chapters have a financial stake in ATI, resulting in preferred rates and display. Alan's
goal in these chapters - largely OH/NJ/Carolinas/Ontario- is drive 50% of ATI revenues (which is
small) through agents and 50% online. Only the Philly/NJ area even approaches 10% online
currently, he admitted. They have an appearance at gophila.com/AAA. He's seeking unique FIT
packaging: accommodations paired with attractions. A call-to-action would assist in tracking ROI.
Hotels not currently in ATI programs could also participate. Seeking unique offerings, to be
promoted with banner ads, in AAA magazines/newsletters/renewal materials, CVB web
presence, etc. A new package could be forged and loaded in 1-2 weeks.
Note 5/27/2009 Samantha is no longer with ATI. Met with Alan Puana at PowWow 2009 re AAA/CAA program. Chris
Note 7/22/2008 called Sam (voicemail message) to see about contract handling with ATI in a post-Bee world, and Chris
to follow up on the relationship with AAA/CAA.
Note 3/9/2007 Spoke with Sam about focusing on special promotion to AAA/CAA with ATI hotels. She said Chris
recent efforts in other markets have not fared well - cancelled group programs with Chicago
architecture (only 4 pax) and Charleston culinary focuses. Mentioned stronger sales efforts in
offices of ATI minority stakes: AAA Mid-Atlantic and OH and CAA Alberta and S. Central ON.
They will soon be meeting to determine other opportunities to incite special promotions and find
better results. Looking for properties with "no risk factor" and 4 stars - but admitted the
psychographic of AAA customers differs from demographic.

Note 1/21/2011 ABA 2011 - Met w/Lisa in Mutual Req. In response to our sales mission visit in '08 and the Hunts Mary Ann
Point Sportsman's Club, she said it's been difficult to put a tour together for it since individuals are
going on their own. She'd still like to develop a Brainerd Lakes area hub & spoke tour with options
to the Sportsmans Club, shopping, culinary experience, entertainment, etc.
Wants to find out more about a MN college campus or nursing college run by nuns. She recalls a
beautiful cathedral, a gift shop, and baked items at this location. I thought it might be College of St.
Benedicts in St Joseph, MN. She would like to be contacted by MN college fitting description.
Note 7/7/2008 WI Sales Mission '08 This visit provided a general overview of the statewide and metro-specific Chris
offerings. Lisa's greatest interest was in Jim Wills' Hunts Point Sportsmans Club. Their clientele
and area contacts includes several hunters of all skill levels, and a desire for new experience for
them. Jim provided an overview of operations and pricing. Other tours include a beer & wine trek
in the Stillwater area, girls' weekend in Roseville, and a Vikings-Packers matchup in the Twin
Cities.

While enjoying the wild rice salad and SPAM, she mentioned that they are very interested in
developing a tour to MN to include the Headwaters of the Mississippi, wild rice harvesting and
processing, following the Great River Rd as much as possible with stops in river cities along the
way. Feels that clients in the St Louis area would be interested in seeing where it begins and
how our cities compare/differ with river experiences along it's MN route.
Open to receiving as much info as possible, educational based or sightseeing, in order to offer a
comprehensive tour.
Very interested in attending our 2 Nations Fam this summer which will feature a stop at the
Headwaters and a wild rice processing facility.

Wants to travel through Minnesota and stop at MOA, have 1-1/2 hr Twin Cities highlights tour.
Their groups are religious conservative and prefer more nature based, beautiful scenic touring.
Suggested St Cloud area attraction stops like St Joseph, lunch at St John's, Hjemkomst Center for
one of the routes thru MN. Brief visits break up the long drive while not adding days to the trip nor
increase tour cost. Would create interest for a return tour to MN. Will call Carleen as she wants a
fam tour to line things up. Summer is best for her.
They also offer a variety of themed itinerares that include agriculture, culinary, historical,
multi-generational and vacations with a purpose = Voluntours.

Note 1/21/2011 ABA 2011 - Met w/Karl in Mutual Req. North Dakota and SD are listed on their profile forms as Mary Ann
destinations. He said they go with cheapest air rates they can get. Also do motorcoach tours.
Interested in our 2 Nation Tour program and sample itineraries. They do tours to the Badlands so
MN is now more of an interest. Would like to attend a 2 Nation Tours fam this year.
Note 11/25/2009 Most of Travac's plate consists of retails tours, Karl is skeptical of adding such a distant Chris
destination. He has a fair amount of fly/coach, but not to regional destinations; Winnipeg is only
nearby nonstop from Ottawa. He has considered assembling a 2-week Midwest tour, so I pitched
combining MN with IL/WI and maybe Branson for the clincher. He also promotes using pre-formed
tours as fundraisers for organizations.
Field Changed 11/23/2009 Last Results - OMCA 09 London, ON Chris
Field Changed 10/30/2008 Last Results - OMCA 08 Toronto Airport Chris
Note 10/30/2008 Has been to MN but many years ago. Closest current product is nights in Chicago with overnights Chris
each way in MI. Likes to emphasize unique experiences by creating itineraries with special
exhibitions. Described recent/current examples at Science Museum and Vatican Splendors at MN
History Center. Given the distance, and lack of lead promotion time for most such exhibitions, he
felt a MN tour would be a challenge. One option may be shopping customer base - they have
multi-nite shopping tours to Woodbury and NY Finger Lakes area.
