The Southeastern District Health Department is Changing Their Name
                                to Southeastern Idaho Public Health

The Southeastern District Health Department (SDHD) is excited to announce that they are changing
their name to “Southeastern Idaho Public Health.” The SDHD Board of Health approved the name
change at the December 2011, Board of Health meeting. The change is official as of February 1,
2012.

SDHD is making this change for several reasons. First and foremost, SDHD wants to be clear about
who they are and what they do: public health. Second, SDHD is often confused with the Department
of Health & Welfare (DHW). On a daily basis, SDHD get calls for DHW. Many community partners,
friends, family—many times, do not understand the difference between SDHD and DHW. Hopefully,
the name change will clear up some confusion.

As a result of this change, the SDHD website address is also changing to www.siphidaho.org .
Employee email addresses will remain the same for now.

If you have any questions, please contact Southeastern Idaho Public Health Director, Maggie Mann, at
