hen most people talk about
“climbing everest” its not a lit-
eral mountain, but at 13 Jordan
romero, became the youngest
person to climb mount everest
and at 15 he became the youngest climber in the
world to complete the seven summits (the highest
peaks on the globe). He was inspired to climb the
tallest mountains of each continent when he saw a
painting in the hallway of his school that had the sev-
en continents’ highest mountains. romero’s climb
has sparked controversy as to whether teens should
even be allowed to attempt such dangerous feats,
and has sparked age restrictions in several areas,
but no one can dispute that when it comes to setting
and achieving goals, Jordan’s story is one of truly
conquering mountains.
How did it feel to be the youngest American moun-
tain climber to climb Mount Everest? It was amazing.
When I stood on the top I kind of couldn’t believe I was
there. I worked so hard toward this part of my goal and
