Definition of Lean Manufacturing

Understanding what lean manufacturing to take no rocket science, but also not to take the

conference out of ten experts to make the basic concepts. Simply put, lean manufacturing is to

achieve maximum efficiency and profitability by eliminating wasteful practices and activities

that are commonly found in corporate mode.

At first glance, some companies are hinting at is adopting lean manufacturing mind, because his

name sounds fancy. But, in truth, it's actually easier than you think. The fact that you just have to

have a dedication and discipline to see things and make changes happen.

First, let's define what the first seven companies of waste identified as the cause of production

delays, huge cost and, finally, filing bankruptcy and hostile takeover.

1) excessive

2) transport

3) motion (a process which should not be done)

4) inventory

5) processing

6) wait time

7) disability

This is the main reason why most companies are often not able to. For example, with disabilities,

rather than focusing on achieving the best quality products in the shortest possible time, some

companies waste of effort and energy to see and correct defects in the equipment and methods

and problems. If excesses were discussed in the first place, and the problems in the bud, such as

an activity should not be removed.

Popular definition of lean manufacturing

If companies want to understand what lean is, should first familiarize yourself with some

outstanding technical terms associated with it. Do not let the word scare you.

Cellular manufacturing

It includes a manual installation and operation of machines to achieve a combination of the most

efficient and cost-effective, that will benefit the most from a particular activity and methods,

while reducing waste, while at the same time. Cellular manufacturing in general U-shape and the

current in a single scheme.

Kanban system

Interestingly, the methods that use color cards attached to the part to be able to ensure the smooth

flow of production. "Pull method" means simply the interests of customers is the key, not you as

a manufacturer to dictate that the consumer should have.

Value

This is what customers are willing to pay. It is the responsibility of lean manufacturing strategies

to deliver exactly what customers want.

Pull System

This includes the replacement of only the items that have been depleted or exhausted.

Cycle time

It is determined by the level of customer demand. Tact time is what makes the production rate

and by how many consumers have products sent to them. This is often referred to as the heart of

lean manufacturing.
