OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY
2008 –09
Summer Financial Aid
June 23, 2008 through September 5, 2008
Registration begins April 13th
HOW CAN I RECEIVE AID FOR SUMMER TERM?
You must have a complete 2008-2009 FAFSA on file, and be enrolled for at least half-time credits (6
undergrad, 5 grad) for summer term (all sessions combined). Students wanting summer financial aid should
register for all their classes at the same time.
WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED OF MY SUMMER TERM AWARD?
Starting in late May, emails will be sent to students registered for summer. Students will be asked to provide
information about their 2008-2009 enrollment plans so that their financial aid award can be adjusted
accordingly. Email notifications will be sent when awards have been adjusted.
WHAT TYPE OF AID IS AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER TERM?
Student Ford Direct loans, Grad PLUS and Parent PLUS loans, and Federal Pell Grants will be available for
summer 2008. If attending and requesting aid for the summer term in addition to fall, winter and spring
terms, the student Ford Direct Loan will be divided over the four terms. An increase in the student Ford
Direct loan will occur only if your loan amount is not already at the maximum award allowed: FR = $3500,
SO = $4500 and JR/SR = $5500 Graduate Level = $8500. Pell grant funds are available for 3 terms of full-
time equivalent enrollment only. Partial Pell awards are available on less than full-time enrollment. Students
awarded Federal Work-Study, who are enrolled at least half-time for summer, can work during summer term.
WHEN WILL AID BE AVAILABLE?
The earliest date summer aid will disburse onto student billing accounts is July 1st. Refunds will be processed
after that date for students who have refunds due as a result of authorized financial aid exceeding the charges
applied to the student billing account.
WHAT IF I WANT AID FUNDS FOR SUMMER ONLY?
Aid for one term only can be processed if summer 2008 will be your ONLY term of attendance. However,
your aid funds must be received before the term ends on September 5, 2008. Late requests for summer only
funds may not be processed after August 15, 2008.
