Letter of Intent
Teaching children has always been a passion of mine. I love to see the look on children’s
faces when I know that I have gotten through to them. In high school I was involved in a student
teaching program where I taught at a local elementary school. I worked with children in the
second grade, which I believe is such a fun age. I grew very fond of the students I helped. I
remember one boy who was having a particularly hard time with math and I was the one who
helped him to understand. It felt great to teach him and to see the confidence he had in himself
after that.
In addition to the field experience I have, I also have several teaching courses completed
from UNM. I did not finish my teaching degree at UNM and instead took a break from school. I
bounced around from field to field until I obtained my degree online from NMSU. I have also
been attending CNM to earn an associate’s degree in accounting. Problem solving and math are
also passions of mine.
I am currently a stay at home mom and a part time book keeper. I love every day spent
with my children. I enjoy watching them learn new things every day and I am amazed at how
fast they learn. I have a learning schedule for my two year old that involves art, music, dance,
vocabulary, reading and counting.
I am at a point now where I will be ready to go back to work soon. I had planned on
getting a job as a full time bookkeeper. Instead I heard about the alternative licensure program
and thought it would be perfect for me. I love teaching and I love children. I enjoy coming up
with new ways to do things. I also enjoy being in charge of the work I do.
I am very self motivated, patient, kind, artistic and fun. I like to have a great time after all
my business is taken care of. I become very interested and involved in any project or job that I
have done and would be an excellent addition to any school.
