                                                                                                     amaria was born when her mother was 19. An unexpected pregnancy
                                                                                                     can knock some young women off track. Not Zamaria’s mom. Elizabeth is
                                                                                                      a smart, bright-eyed woman with big plans. She had already graduated
                                                                                                      from high school, making good grades while working a part-time job on
                                                                                                       the side.

                                                                                                       When Zamaria arrived, Elizabeth took a brief time-out from school to

                                                                                     Services. “I felt that it was important to support a program for parents and
                                                                                     their children when they needed a break or additional help,” she explains.
                                                                                    Diana had a full-time job, a stable home life with two children and a life
                                                                                   partner, and she owned her own home. She was at a secure point in her
                                                                                life and wanted to help others.
