                           Unit 8: Microsoft Word II
Goals of This Unit: If you do your job well in this unit you should be able to:
 Use all of the tools on the formatting bar effectively
 Create and format tables effectively

Expected Duration of this Unit: Two weeks

Learning:

 Imagine that the following has happened. You finally made it to adulthood and graduated from
high school. You had expected to be able to do whatever you want, whenever you want, but reality
set in, and now you’re working two jobs to support yourself because rent, food prices and gas have
all skyrocketed, and suddenly that Dr. Seuss book, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” your teacher read
to you the last day of 12th grade seems like a cruel lie. You’re not moving mountains, you’re barely
moving at all. You have to buy your own everything, and suddenly your everything is intensely
less every. You even stopped wearing DC shoes and opted instead to purchase a pair from Wal-
Mart, ironically branded “Faded Glory.” There is hope, though, despite what it may seem like at
the moment, because you paid attention in math class, and now you can budget! First step, budget,
second step, go to college, get a good job, and pull yourself out of this canyon of ramen noodle,
my-mom-won’t-give-me-money-anymore despair. You can do it! Okay, okay, so maybe the good
doctor does know a thing or two.

    your table.

 Use bolding, alignment, and Auto Format appropriately, to enhance the impact and usability of
