TT.55 TANKING SLURRY
DESCRIPTION AND USE TT55 is a single component polymer modified cement based protective and
waterproof slurry coating. When mixed and applied correctly forms a highly effective damp proof
membrane that can be applied to sound brickwork, concrete, blockwork or any cementitious substrate.

PREPARATION All surfaces to be treated with TT 55 must be free of all loose materials, dust, dirt,
plaster, bitumen, oil, paint, etc. and of a sound nature, to allow maximum bonding to the original structure.
This is best achieved by sand/shot blasting, scabbling or bush hammering. Once the surface has been
prepared it should be pressure washed to remove any remaining dust. For application to floors, the floor
screed must be removed, down to the original slab. The slab must be of a sound nature and not have any
cracks.

APPLICATION Apply 10mm backing render coat using 3:1, washed sharp sand, sulphate resisting
Portland cement and Trimix 1 Render Additive in gauging water, in areas of high hydrostatic pressure the
surface should be prepared as above, but the first render coat should be mixed using Triton Bonding Agent
diluted with gauging water (do not use Trimix 1 in this application). Allow render to go green, not dry,
before applying TT55.

TT 55 can be applied using trowel, brush or spraying equipment, ensuring an even coat and that all crevices
and irregularities are filled (for application consumption see fig. 1). Maximum 4kg/m or 2mm in one
application. When coating walls, particular attention is needed at wall/floor junction (see fig.2). Coat walls
and lap (approximately 225mm) TT55 on to the floor, form fillet at wall/floor junction using sand/cement.
Coat floor with TT55 and overlap up wall (approximately 225mm). TT55 is not a final finish for floors and
should be screeded before TT55 has totally dried. Once TT55 has gone green (started to set) the top render
coat can be applied if required using, 4:1, washed sharp sand: ordinary Portland cement or suitable
renovating plaster. The finish coat should be a porous skim plaster, applied when the cement render coats
are fully cured, bonding or skimming plaster should not be applied directly on the TT55 layer. Once
replastering is complete and dry, trade matt emulsion can be applied (NO WALLPAPERS OR OIL BASED
PAINTS).

MIXING Place 25kg TT55 into a clean container, add 5.5-6 litres of water and stir using a mechanical
whisk for approximately 5 minutes.

STORAGE AND HANDLING
Avoid breathing dust.
Wear gloves and eye protection.
Wash hands and exposed skin after use.
Must be stored in dry frost-free conditions.
If bags are stored correctly and unopened they will have shelf life of 12 months.
Packed in 25kg bags.

CURING During cure suitable protection must be given to the treated areas. Protect from direct sunlight,
strong wind, rain and water splashes, until fully hardened.

TRITON FILLET SEAL
A pre-packed cement based and polymer modified product for use as a floor to wall junction seal during
waterproofing works when using cementitious slurry coatings (T.T.55) and renders. In most circumstances FILLET
SEAL need only be mixed with water for use. Where extra adhesion or flexibility are required, TRITON SBR latex
and TRITON TANKING MIX ELASTIFIER (T.T.M.E) may be used respectively.

NOTE: Where water is leaking or seeping the use of TRITON QUICK SET is advised.

The use of FILLET SEAL helps to ensure a smooth transition between horizontal and vertical surfaces
which minimises the risk of leaving gaps or holes unsealed during the water proofing works.

PREPARATION
Situations where the FILLET SEAL will be employed should already have been prepared in accordance
with the slurry coating or render specification. In the majority of instances the FILLET SEAL will be
applied onto the slurry coated surface as illustrated in FIG. 1 below.

The FILLET SEAL becomes fully encapsulated within the layers of slurry coating.

USAGE
FILLET SEAL normally needs only mixing with clean water before use. Add sufficient water to make a cohesive, stiff
mortar. Ideally the FILLET SEAL should be applied to partly cured (green) slurry coating (T.T.55) surfaces to
maximise adhesion. If this is not possible make up the FILLET SEAL using a gauging solution composed of 1 part
TRITON SBR to 4 parts water (by volume). Pre-wet the surface with the same solution just before applying the
FILLET SEAL. When excessive stress concentrations are expected at floor/wall joints the use of T.T.M.E added to the
mix is advised. T.T.M.E increases flexibility and should be added neat to FILLET SEAL until the required
consistency is achieved. The slurry coating (T.T.55) under and overcoats should also contain T.T.M.E.

NOTE: Only sound substrates suitable to be permanently sealed under a waterproofing system should be
treated. Concrete, Brick, Stone, Render and Mortar in poor condition could deteriorate further when sealed
inappropriately.
CURING
Avoid rapid drying out, overcoat as soon as set (5-6 hours dependent on conditions) whenever possible. Do
not subject to running water until fully hardened (and overcoated).

TRITON TANKING MIX ELASTIFIER
(T.T.M.E)
DESRIPTION AND USE T.T.M.E. is a plasticiser-free anionic dispersion. It has excellent bonding and
elongation properties with extremely low water absorption allowing TT55 when mixed with T.T.M.E. to be
flexible waterproof coating suitable for either vertical or horizontal surfaces.

PREPARATION All surfaces to be treated with T.T.M.E. must be free of all loose materials, dust, dirt,
plaster, bitumen, oil, paint etc. and of a sound nature to allow maximum bonding to the original structure.
This is best achieved by sand/shot blasting, scabbling or bush hammering. Once the surface has been
prepared it should be pressure washed to remove any remaining dust.

APPLICATION T.T.M.E. is ideal for use in areas which are liable to cracking or deformation of the
surface (not more than 0.5mm). Wall/floor junctions are areas in which T.T.M.E. can be successfully used.
A maximum of 4kg/sq meters can be applied in one layer. It can be applied with a trowel, brush, or mortar
gun. DO NOT apply below 5°C.

MIXING Place 25kg of TT55 into a clean container and add 10kg of T.T.M.E. Mix thoroughly using a
mechanical whisk for approximately 5 minutes.

TRITON QUICK SET (T.Q.S)
TRITON QUICK SET (T.Q.S) Plugging Compound is a one part fast setting cementitious material
developed to stem water flow but can be used as an all purpose instant setting repair mortar with a wide
range of application.

A SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE VERSATILE MATERIAL, JUST ADD WATER.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Mix up to 0.5kg of T.Q.S. at a time. Mix quickly with clean water to a
mortar consistency within 30 seconds and apply immediately by trowel or gloved hand and apply constant
even pressure (when plugging water flow – approx. 30-60 seconds) until set.


MIXING RATIO Mix 1 part water to 4 parts powder by volume or 1 part water to 5 parts powder by
weight. (Dry powder weight approximately 1220gms per litre). The mixing ratio is not critical and has little
effect on the setting time.


T.Q.S. Plugging Compound is non-toxic, contains no chloride and is free from synthetic resins or epoxides.


WARNING Use rubber gloves to protect from heat generated during the setting period.


STORAGE Store in dry conditions. Stored correctly, shelf life is 12 months.


CONSUMPTION 1.9kg/m² per mm thickness.


HEALTH & SAFETY T.Q.S. contains ordinary Portland cement and is alkaline when mixed. It is
odourless, contains no organic solvent and is not flammable. In the case of eye or skin contact wash
immediately with water or saline solution. Obtain medical attention if irritation persists. If ingested do not
induce vomiting, wash mouth out with water, drink water and seek medical attention. Handle in accordance
with good industrial hygiene and safety practices. Wear impermeable plastic or rubber gloves and enclosed
goggles for eye protection at all times when handling alkaline materials. All chemical materials should be
treated with care and kept away from children and animals at all times. For further information refer to our

                              of TT55 as illustrated.

                                     When the coating of TT55 has dried to a tacky consistency fill
                                     the cavity with sand/cement (3:1) mortar ensuring the same is
                                     compacted back to surface.


                                     When the mortar has set, apply a coating of TT55 to the surface
                                     of the repaired area as shown.

TRITON SBR
SBR Latex admixture for cementitious mixes e.g.; Renders, Screeds, Tile adhesives, Patch repairs and
waterproof slurry coatings.
TRITON SBR improves the workability and durability of cement mixes. The resultant cured material has
the following improved properties over a non latex mix:
               Higher strength, density and water impermeability.
               Increased flexibility and crack resistance.
               Improved adhesive bond allowing thinner layers to be laid.
               Increased chemical resistance.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
PREPARATION: Surfaces to be rendered, screeded etc. must be free from all loose and friable material,
dust, dirt, plaster, bitumen, grease etc.
PRIMING COAT: The application of a priming coat is normally recommended to obtain maximum
adhesion to the substrate. The prepared surface should be thoroughly dampened with water (but with no free
standing water). A primer coat consisting of two parts Portland cement mixed with one part of TRITON
SBR by volume should be thoroughly worked into the surface by brush or broom. The topping (screed,
render etc.) should be applied whilst the primer is still wet.
MIXING: Premix the sand and cement. Add 9 - 10litres TRITON SBR for every 50kg of cement used.
Add small amounts of water until the desired consistency is achieved. TRITON SBR has a
plasticizing/water reducing effect and less water than normal will be required. Do not over-mix.
APPLICATION: The thickness of Renders should be restricted to about 7mm per coat to avoid sagging.
Multi coats can be applied in relatively quick succession:- 30-60 minutes. Screeds can be placed as normal
(priming coat recommended). Avoid over-finishing or rapid drying, if necessary cover with polythene for
24-48 hours after placing.

TRISEAL
DAMP PROOF MEMBRANE AND WATER VAPOUR SUPPRESSANT
                                             DESCRIPTION
A solvent free, two part epoxy resin coating primarily for use on sand/cement or concrete floors subject to
rising damp or containing residual construction moisture. TRISEAL is both a surface damp proof membrane
and a water vapour suppressant.

TECHNICAL DATA

                                  NOTE: The coverage figures given are based on application to a smooth,
                                  dense surface. The coverage obtained will vary according to the porosity
                                  and texture of the surface to which the TRISEAL is being applied.
                                  Moisture vapour suppression is maximised when the total coating
                                  thickness is 400 micron or over.

                                                PREPARATION
Surfaces to be coated must be sound, firm, clean and free from dust, grease, oil or other contaminants likely
to prevent adhesion. Liquid water should not be present on the surface, which should look dry – moisture
within the substrate is acceptable. If there is a risk of moisture rising to the surface under pressure, another
form of damp proofing such as PLATON membrane should be used. New concrete subfloors or sand cement
screeds must be left for a minimum of 7 days to cure before applying the coating, if necessary lightly shot
blast or scarify the floor to remove curing agents, laitence or other undesirable contaminants. Vacuum clean
afterwards to remove dust and debris.

                                                 MIXING
Empty the entire contents of the hardener pack (Part 2) in to the resin pack (Part 1) ensuring that the
container sides and bottom are scraped thoroughly. Using a spatula or (preferably) a mixing paddle fixed
into a slow speed drill, mix the two components together for at least two minutes. Scrape down the sides of
the container and mix again for another minute. Use the mixed product immediately.
NOTE: In cold conditions (5-10°c) the viscosity of the two components will increase, to reduce viscosity
and cure time store the product in a warm environment for at least 6 hours before use.

                                                APPLICATION
Once thoroughly mixed the product should be poured out onto the floor and spread out as evenly as possible
using a brush or medium pile paint roller. Do not overspread the product. Apply a minimum of two coats to
achieve a total film thickness of 400 micron. Re-coat times will vary according to substrate and air
temperatures. Do not apply at temperatures below 5°c or falling towards that temperature. At 20°c the
poured out product has a working time of approximately 45 minutes, do not leave the mixed product in the
original container, as this will reduce the pot life.
NOTE: To be effective the coating must be free of thin spots or pinholes.

                                            CLEANING
Tools and equipment can be cleaned with TRITON Resin Cleaner whilst the coating is uncured.

                                                 CURING
Depending on temperature, full strength is achieved in 2-7 days. The maximum allowable time between
coats is 48 hours.

                                             PRECAUTIONS
            Avoid skin contact – See safety data sheets.
            Only mix whole packs, as mix ratios are critical.
            TRISEAL will not bridge construction joints or large/mobile cracks.
            Usage at temperatures above 25°c will result in a very short pot life; in such instances keep
            product cool before use.
            Insufficient mixing of resin and hardener packs together will result in poor performance.

TRIMOL 41
CEMENT REINFORCED EPOXY COATING
DESCRIPTION A three pack cement reinforced epoxy coating for walls, floors, soffit surfaces etc.
TRIMOL 41 is used to provide a high build (upto 2mm) waterproof and decorative coating in cellars,
basements etc. TRIMOL 41 resists the passage of moisture and salts and can be left as a tough, washable
finish or is used between cement render coats in a “sandwich” construction. TRIMOL 41 is water based.

USES

                      DAMP PROOF MEMBRANE -for walls and floors where original d.p.m has failed
                                           or is non-existent.
                      CELLAR COATING     - provides a water and salt resistant finish, can be
                                           applied directly to brickwork avoiding the need of a
                                           render coat. Fully washable.
                      TANKING            - used between render coats as part of a “sandwich”
                                           construction. Tested to withstand 7 bar of water
                                           pressure.
                      HYGIENE COATING    - for use in beer or wine cellars, kitchens, store rooms
                                           etc. Tough, hardwearing and fully washable.

TRIMOL 41 is suitable for application to most common substrates including brick, concrete, sound stone
and cement renders. TRIMOL 41 can be used on damp (but not running wet) surfaces.

TECHNICAL DATA

PREPARATION The surfaces to be coated should be sound and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, bitumen
and surface water. Any loose, friable material or laitence should be removed by thorough needle gunning,
grit blasting or wire brushing. Blow holes or irregularities should be filled using TRIMOL 23 adhesive and
TRIMOL 15 patching mortar. Water leaks should be sealed with a plug of TRITON QUICK SET (TQS).
When coating walls and floors or when tanking with TRIMOL 41 always form a fillet at the floor/wall
junction using sand/cement to alleviate pressure and to ensure a smooth transition from vertical to
horizontal. Re-point between bricks if existing mortar is in poor condition.
MIXING Add the resin component to the hardener and mix thoroughly using a paddle or whisk in a slow
speed drill or a flat piece of wood or metal bar. With continued mixing slowly add the dry filler powder, mix
until smooth and free of lumps . Add all the powder provided. Do not add any extra water.

APPLICATION - GENERAL
Application can be by brush or roller. Apply the TRIMOL 41 as evenly as possible at a thickness of up to
1mm per coat. Apply two coats. Very dry or porous surfaces should be pre-wetted with water to control
suction and make application easier. Too thick an application will cause runs or sags to appear. Re-coat
when previous coat is touch dry (typically 6-12 hours or overnight). Do not allow more than 24 hours
between coats.

APPLICATION - BRICKWORK
As above, but in addition the condition of pointing should be assessed, if in poor condition rake out and re-
point or rake-out and apply a 10mm render coat of 4:1 sand:cement render pushed firmly into the joints.
When cured TRIMOL 41 can be applied to the new surfaces.

APPLICATION - TANKING
When using TRIMOL 41 as a tanking membrane (floors and walls combined) it is essential that an overlap
of coats occurs at the wall to floor junction. A fillet should be formed at the floor to wall junction and the
overlaps of TRIMOL 41 should extend 225mm either side of the fillet.

APPLICATION - FINISHING
In many cases TRIMOL 41 can be left as the decorative finish coat. When tanking, the last coat of
TRIMOL 41 should be blinded with dry sharp sand whilst still tacky to maximise the adhesion of a final
render coat.

NOTE: TRIMOL 41 has been formulated to cure at reasonable conditions of temperature. Low
temperatures will delay curing (below 5°C) whilst high temperatures will reduce pot life.

COVERAGE 2-4 square metres per kg
         Coverage will depend on surface porosity, texture and application method.
CURING   Touch dry: 6-12 hours
         Full Cure: 7 days
         Maximum period between coats: 24 hours
         Potlife: 30 minutes at 20°C.

PACKAGING Available in 2.5kg packs.

CLEANING        Uncured material can be washed off with soap and water.

             SUITABILITY:                         Suitable for general waterproofing on concrete, roofing felt,
                                                  asphalt, etc. Although the product may be applied to damp
                                                  surfaces it should not be used during wet weather or when rain is
                                                  imminent.

             STORAGE:                             Protect from frost.

TRITON TT SUPER
DESCRIPTION
Triton TT Super is a surface applied material, which waterproofs and protects concrete in-depth. It consists
of grey or white Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and a compound of active chemicals. Triton
TT Super is supplied in powder form in 25kg pails and needs only to be mixed with water prior to
application.

All data are averages of several tests under laboratory conditions. In practice, climatic variations such as temperature, humidity and porosity
of substrate may affect those values.
PROPERTIES
When Triton TT Super is applied to a concrete surface the active chemicals combine with the free lime and
moisture present in the capillary track, to form insoluble crystalline complexes. These crystals block the
capillaries and minor shrinkage cracks in the concrete to prevent any further water ingress (even under
pressure). However, the layer will still allow the passage of water vapour through the structure (i.e. the
concrete will still be able to “breath”). In addition to waterproofing the structure, Triton TT Super protects
concrete against seawater, wastewater, aggressive ground water and certain chemical solutions. Triton TT
Super is suitable for the treatment of water storage tanks, reservoirs, water towers etc…

Triton TT Super is not a decorative material.

SURFACE APPLICATION
All concrete to be treated with Triton TT Super must be clean and have an “open” capillary system.
Remove laitance, dirt, grease etc… by means of high pressure water jetting, wet sandblasting or wire
brushing.

Faulty concrete in the form of cracks, honeycombing, etc… must be chased out, coated with Triton TT
Super and filled flush with Triton Fillet Seal. Surfaces must be carefully pre watered prior to the Triton TT
Super application. The concrete surface must be damp but not wet.

MIXING
Triton TT Super is mechanically mixed with clean water to a consistency of thick oil paint. Approximate
mixing ratio is 2 parts water to 5.0 parts of powder (by volume).

Mix only as much as can be used within 20 minutes and stir mixture frequently. If the mixture starts to set
do not add more water, simply re-stir to restore workability.

APPLICATION

Slurry consistency.
Apply Triton TT Super in one or two coats according to specification by masonry brush or appropriate
power spray equipment. When two coats are specified apply the second coat whilst the first coat is still
“green”.

Dry powder consistency (for horizontal surfaces only).
The specified amount of Triton TT Super is distributed in powder form through a sieve and towelled into the
freshly placed concrete once this has reached initial set.

Post treatment.
Once the Triton TT Super treatment has reached initial set it should be moist cured with a fine fog spray of
water 2-3 times per day for three days. In hot or windy conditions it should be moist cured more frequently.
During the curing period the Triton TT Super treatment must be protected from rainfall, frost or puddling of
water.

NOTE: Do not apply Triton TT Super at temperatures below +5oC. Triton TT Super cannot be used as an
additive to concrete, please refer to Triton TT Super Admix data sheet.

CONSUMPTION
Concrete surfaces to be backfilled. One coat of Triton TT Super at 0.75kg/m2 followed by one coat at
1kg/m2. Brush or spray applied.

Water retaining structures, internal concrete wall surfaces.
Two coats of Triton TT Super each at 0.75kg/m2. Brush or spray applied.
 Concrete slabs.
 Triton TT Super at 1.00kg/m2 applied in one slurry coat to hardened concrete or dry sprinkled and trowel
 applied to fresh concrete when this has reached initial set.

 Construction Joints.
 Triton TT Super at 1.5kg/m2 applied in slurry or dry powder consistency immediately prior to placing the
 next lift/bay of concrete.

 Building concrete.
 Triton TT Super at 1.2kg/m2 applied in slurry or dry powder consistency immediately prior to placing the
 overlay concrete slab.

 When stored in a dry place in unopened, undamaged original packaging, shelf life is 12 months.

TRITON TT SUPER ADMIX




DESCRIPTION
Triton TT Super Admix is a unique chemical treatment for the waterproofing and protection of concrete. This
admix is specially designed as a concrete additive at the time of batching.
INTRODUCTION
Packed as a dry powder compound, Triton TT Super Admix consists of Portland cement, very fine treated
silica sand and various active proprietary chemicals. The active chemicals react with the moisture in the
fresh concrete and the by-products of cement hydration causing a catalytic reaction that generates a non-
soluble crystalline formation of dendritic fibres throughout the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete.
Thus the concrete itself becomes sealed against the penetration of water or liquid, protecting the concrete
from the deterioration effect of harsh environmental conditions.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
For waterproofing concrete the recommended addition rate for Triton TT Super Admix is 0.8%- 1.2% by weight
of cement. For enhanced chemical resistance please consult with Triton’s Technical Services to determine the
approximate addition rate. Triton TT Super Admix is added to the concrete at the time of batching. The sequence
of procedures for addition will vary according to the type of batch plant operation and equipment.

    1. READY MIX PLANT - DRY BATCH OPERATION
       Add Triton TT Super Admix in powder form to the drum of the ready-mix truck. Drive the truck
       under the batch plant and add 60% - 70% of the required water along with 140 kg - 230 kg of
       aggregate. Mix the materials for 2 - 3 minutes to ensure the Admix is distributed evenly throughout
       the mix water. Add the balance of materials to the ready-mix truck in accordance with standard batch
       practices.
    2. READY MIX PLANT - CENTRAL MIX OPERATION
       Mix Triton TT Super with water to form a very thin slurry (e.g. 6kg. – 8kg lb. of powder mixed with
       10 Litres of water). Pour the required amount of material into the drum of the ready-mix truck. The
       aggregate, cement and water should be batched and mixed in the plant in accordance with standard
       practices (taking into account the quantity of water that has already been placed in the ready-mix
       truck). Pour the concrete into the truck and mix for at least 5 minutes to ensure even distribution of
       the Triton TT Super Admix throughout the concrete.

    3. PRECAST BATCH PLANT - PAN MIXER
       Add Triton TT Super Admix to the rock and sand, then mix thoroughly for 2 - 3 minutes before
       adding the cement and water. The total concrete mass should be blended using standard practices.
       Note: It is important to obtain a homogeneous mixture of Triton TT Super Admix with the concrete.
       Therefore, do not add dry Triton TT Super Admix powder directly to wet concrete as this may cause
       clumping and thorough dispersion will not occur.

with a Triton technical representative.

CURING
Normal practices for placing and curing concrete should be followed as laid out in your local standards.

PACKAGING
Triton TT Super Admix is available in 20kg Drums or 3kg water-soluble bags. Product must be stored dry
at a minimum temperature of 7oC. Shelf life is one year when stored under proper conditions.

Triton TT Super is alkaline. Protect hands with rubber gloves. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Should
this occur, flush with water. If irritation persists, contact physician.

TRITON TT WATERSTOP
(25mm x 20mm)




INTRODUCTION
Triton TT Waterstop is a preformed waterstop consisting of sodium bentonite and butyl rubber and it swells
up to 700% when in contact with water. When fully encapsulated by poured concrete, the expansive forces
form a seal against concrete surfaces. This seal resists hydrostatic pressure, stopping water from entering
the sub-structures. Triton TT Waterstop is able to withstand a 40 metre head of pressure. As with any
hydrophilic waterstop, Triton TT Waterstop will return to its original size if the concrete and substrate is
completely dry and no more moisture is present. If water or moisture is introduced again to the joints,
Triton TT Waterstop will re-expand to seal the potential leaking joints.

Triton TT Waterstop has a built-in delay system thus the waterstop will activate approximately after 2 days

LIMITATIONS
Triton TT Waterstop should not be used for expansion joints or subject to repetitive movements.
Triton TT Waterstop should not be installed with less than 50mm of concrete cover to ensure that the pressure
arising from the swelling action is accommodated.

TRITON TT SWELL MASTIC
DESCRIPTION
Triton TT Swell Mastic is grey colour, gun applied one component hydro reactive expansion sealant for
waterproofing joints in concrete.
Triton TT Swell Mastic expands up to 100% when in contact with water to create a durable waterstop with
long-lasting adhesive and hydro-swelling properties. When in contact with sea water, Triton TT Swell
Mastic expands between 50 – 70%.
Triton TT Swell Mastic has excellent adhesive properties on different surfaces such as concrete, steel, glass,
PVC, HDPE etc. The surface can be rough, smooth, damp or dry.

LIMITATIONS
Triton TT Swell Mastic should not be used for expansion joint or for joints subjected to significant repetitive
movement
Triton TT Swell Mastic should be positioned to ensure that there is a minimum of 70mm concrete cover to
accommodate pressure developed during the swelling process.
Triton TT Swell Mastic will establish a firm bond to concrete, however, as with any hydrophilic waterstop,
care should be taken during concreting directly onto the seal.

300ml per cartridge.

COVERAGE
Each 320ml gun cartridge will provide enough material for approximately 1.5 metres when gunned to form a
constant 10mm diameter bead.

TRITON TT VAPOUR MEMBRANE
DESCRIPTION
Triton TT Vapour Membrane is a single component acrylic modified coating that once cured, provides a
liquid applied waterproof, methane and carbon dioxide barrier.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
  1. As a retro applied waterproof and gas proof membrane to concrete, masonry and brick substrates.
  2. Can be applied by airless spray, roller or brush to walls, floors or Soffits.
  3. As an alternative to sheet membranes in new construction.

CHARACTERISTICS
  1. A 0.7mm thick (dry film) coating provides an effective methane barrier when applied to most clay or
      cementitious-based construction materials.
  2. Also an effective waterproof membrane
  3. Excellent adhesion, bonds to porous and non-porous substrates.
  4. Flexible.
  5. Non-toxic.
  6. Will withstand temporary light trafficking.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Triton TT Vapour Membrane has good chemical resistance to gasoline, sodium hydroxide, calcium chloride,
de-icing salts and effluent.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
The performance of Triton TT Vapour Membrane is illustrated in the following table with the accepted
criteria for diffusivity (test work done at 0.2 bar)

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
  1. Surfaces must be clean, free from dust and loose material, oil, paint, fungal growth etc.
  2. Non-structural cracks >0.5mm wide must be filled.
  3. Structural cracks must first be repaired and filled.
  4. The substrate must be sound and ideally present a smooth face.
  5. Old repairs must be inspected and re-repaired if necessary.
  6. Newly laid concrete should have a clean textured surface; Triton TT Vapour Membrane can be
     applied to concrete or mortar within 24 hours of laying.
  7. Apply 45º fillets into angles formed of Triton Fillet Seal where practicable.

MIXING
Triton TT Vapour Membrane is supplied ready blended in a pail. The product requires agitation using a
slow speed paddle mixer. Mix carefully for 5 minutes before use. If containers are stored for more than 2
hours after opening, re-agitate.

Do not add water.

SURFACE APPLICATION
   1. Pre-dampen (not wet) the substrate before applying the first coat.

Interface with other media
     1. For expansion joints ensure that Triton TT Vapour Membrane is applied well into the rebate before
        the expansion media is applied.
     2. Other gas membranes must be exposed and lapped with Triton TT Vapour Membrane where present.

Dealing with cracks
    1. Cracks must be stabilised and filled. Apply the first coat of Triton TT Vapour Membrane and apply
       plasterers polyurethane scrim along the line of the crack, apply a further coat of Triton TT Vapour
       Membrane to fully cover the scrim; apply the final coat as stated below.
Application of the main coating system
   1. The product can be applied by stiff brush, roller or airless spray with a minimum 17 thousands of an
      inch nozzle. The spray method is especially suitable for less accessible locations and uneven
      substrates.
   2. The first, primer, application is applied at the rate of >0.5lt/m for waterproofing and >0.3lt/m for an
      effective gas proof membrane. Ensure that the coating is even; use a circular action when spraying.
   3. Allow the primer coat to dry before applying the second coat.
   4. Apply the second coat at the rate of >0.7lt/m for waterproofing and >0.5lt/ m for gas proof
      applications; for brush application, apply at right angles to the first coat. Again use a circular action
      when spraying. Application rate will depend on substrate surface.
   5. Do not apply over bitumen.
   6. The total application thickness must not exceed 4mm if splitting or cracking is to be avoided.

 Triton TT Vapour Membrane is supplied in a 20lt pail.

 STORAGE
 Triton TT Vapour Membrane must be stored at temperatures above 5ºC and below 35ºC in dry conditions,
 off the ground and away from direct sunlight.
 The shelf life is 12 months in original unopened packaging when stored correctly.
