A. Mitte Update
Deal has been signed with Mitte Foundation, scholarships begin in fall 2003
B. Make A Mark
Almost $9K raised by students, match provided by Goldman Sachs, 62% student participation
The MAM funds have been combined to create an Endowed Presidential Scholarship, funds to be matched
by the Dean
C. Office News
Adding new full-time position effective September ’02 to handle admissions and scholarship administration,
new office space will be added over the summer

IV. Excellence Fund
A. Update from Scott and Judy
$11K in hand, $38K pledged
3 Goals:
1). $25k pledged and $5k in hand to create fund- accomplished
2). Secure matching from the Dean-accomplished
3). 100% participation by Advisory Committee-incomplete, only 60%; members have not pledged; we are
just looking for a minimum pledge ($25)
B. Brochure-Doenges Fellows
Ready to go to print; will be very helpful in the solicitation of alumni
C. Parent and Alumni solicitation timelines
Parents are going to be solicited for money to the program now in the form of cash, rather than pledges to
the excellence fund. Money is needed for the program until Mitte money and payouts from excellence fund
are received-Summer ‘02
April ’02- Program update and goals letter sent to alumni; it will be an introduction to the excellence fund
August ’02- solicitation letter
D. Excellence Fund Oversight Committee
There is no need for this committee. Current AC member will help in the solicitation of larger donors with
the help of Judy and Sandy
E. Distribution of Excellence Funds
In addition to the areas mentioned MBHP Programs and Initiatives sheet, funds should go towards the
retention of faculty and staff
Dr. Cox will begin presenting a form of a budget at the next AC meeting
F. Review Timeline
V. Alumni Relations-Adam
A. Area events- Steve Carlson
Continue to go well; new Chicago event scheduled for early summer; successful first event in Houston; it
was agreed that we should piggyback off MSB and UT events in other cities; utilize the UTBN more
B. On-line efforts
2nd email newsletter set to go out; on-line chat rooms and discussion boards are now established; they will
be rolled out with the alumni mentor program
C. Publications-alumni newsletter more frequent
VI. Other initiatives-Adam
A. Alumni Mentor Program-with the help of Greg Gerstenhaber this will begin in the fall; all alumni with
valid email addresses will be asked to complete a survey indicating their preference in communication,
participation, and level of involvement
B. Recruiting-more effort needs to be made for national publicity; contacts need to be made at Business
Week and US News; working with other Mitte Schools for PR push
VII. Future of Advisory Committee
We are establishing 4 new committees and seeking a chair for each one:
-Resources (Excellence Fund)
-Alumni Relations
-Communications-promoting the program
-Recruiting
In addition, we are looking for new chair and vice-chair to replace Scott and Will who will stay on the AC to serve in
other capacities
