Agenda For July 27 th Meeting

I. Welcome-Adam



II. Introduction of chairs and committees



A. Chairs: Andrew and Robin

B. Communication: Scott and Adam

Goals of this committee include increasing awareness of the program to regional and national audiences

through print media, organizations, and alumni efforts.

C. Alumni Relations: Boris

Boris has arranged calls and meetings with most area chapter heads. He hopes to build on the area events

that Steve has successfully established with the goal of bringing more alumni programming, services, and

interaction to alumni around the country.

D. Recruiting: Crissy

Crissy plans on improving current alumni efforts in recruiting (i.e. alumni phone calls to prospective

students and PMC’s) as well as initiating further efforts.

E. Resources: Craig

Craig will work with MBHP staff and the development office to keep Excellence Fund efforts sustained and

on the AC on target for our goals.

All AC members are strongly encouraged to join one of the standing committees by emailing the chair

or Adam.



III. Program and Admissions Update-Dr. Cox and Lara

A. 2002 Sophomore Admissions

1. 95 applicants

2. 33 admitted

3. Average GPA 3.94

4. Compare to 2001: 28/83; 3.93

Very strong entering Sophomore admits. Both freshman and sophomore classes continue to strengthen

the program. MBHP has hired a new staff member to handle admissions, Mitte Scholarships, and student

recruiting. Lara is enrolling in UT’s evening MBA program. All staff received raises/promotions in the

past several months. MBHP hosted a meeting of all schools (8) receiving Mitte money on July 11th. Ways

to work together and establish best practices was discussed. Ohio State will host the next meeting in

October.



IV. Excellence Fund

A. Update from Adam

$40, 855 pledged to date

$12,005 received

21/28 (75%) of AC members have pledged at least $1

How do we get to 100% participation?



B. Brochure-Doenges Fellows

Ready to be distributed with solicitation letter.

C. Alumni solicitation timelines

September 7th Excellence Fund intro letters mailed to all alumni

August 1st solicitation letters and brochures sent to all alumni

February 1st reminder letters sent to all alumni who have not pledged

Phone a thon?

V. Alumni Relations-Adam

A. Area events- Steve Carlson

Events have happened in Dallas, Houston, SF, San Antonio and Austin since last meeting

Thinking about hosting events in Chicago, Atlanta, and DC

B. On-line efforts

C. Publications

Alumni Magazine to be mailed in August

D. Freshman Kick-off

Alumni invited to attend luncheon on August 25 th welcoming new students. Any AC member interested in

attending, can email Adam for more info.



VI. Alumni Mentor Program

With the help of Greg G. program is set to kick off in the fall. Mentors are needed; surveys will be included

in August alumni magazine. Great interest has been shown on both the student and alumni side.

Two dates being considered: September 21 st or October 5th
