Instructions to Applicant:
Admissions into the Texas MBA at Houston Program is gained through a critical evaluation of a number of
characteristics, including the variety and extent of personal competencies; the nature and level of professional career
success/achievements; career goals; the strength of one’s prior academic history; and the competitiveness of
admissions test scores. Your responses to the essays below are the principal method by which the Texas MBA
Admissions Committee gains qualitative insights into your admissions competitiveness. It is therefore critical that you
apply yourself fully when preparing responses to these essay questions. Your admissions decision will largely depend
upon the skill, the clarity, the focus, and the simplicity with which you present your responses.
Upon completion, print and include your essays in your Texas MBA at Houston “Mailed Items” packet. Please
remember to include the Document Matching Form with each packet mailed to our office.
