2. The RA Shadowing
The mandatory RA shadowing is a great way to get first had experience of what the
Residential Advisor position entails. Candidates are required to shadow one hour of office
hours and one official duty round. The two different shadowing experiences will be
conducted with various Resident Advisors. To set up an appointment please contact The
Office of Residential Life and Housing or a current Resident Advisor. The shadowing
exercise must be completed when your application is submitted.
3. The Resume
All resumes must be reviewed and stamped by the
Office of Career Development on the 4th floor of the Alvin Sherman Library. In addition to
the Office of Career Development Drop in Hours the following times have been designated
for Resident Advisor Candidates to have their resume reviewed.
January 21 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 2:30 – 5:00 pm
January 26 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 1:00 – 2:00 pm 3:00 – 4:00 pm 5:00 -7:00 pm
February 2 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 1:00 – 2:00 pm 3:00 – 4:00 pm 5:00 -7:00 pm
February 4 9:00 am – 12:00 pm 2:30 – 5:00pm
4. The Application
Applications are available on our website a http://www.nova.edu/reslife/life/
And due February 6th 2009 by 5 pm in the Office of Residential Life and Housing.
5. The Interview—February 9th – 27th, 2009
Interviews will be conducted with either an Area Coordinator, Assistant Area Coordinator and two current
Resident Advisors. For those who continue in the selection process will be asked conducted an addition
interview with the Assistant Director of Residential Life and the Director of Residential Life. During this
interview you will be asked to submit a program proposal.
6. The Announcement
Decision letters will be mailed on March 27, 2009.
