• The River Nile was very
important because it
flooded every year and left
behind black silt which
was good for growing
crops
• You could travel on it
• Papyrus grew on it and
they made paper and
boats.
• They could fish in it
• Gave them water to drink

• Scribes were the
people that taught
the children how to
write
• It was hard work being
a scribe because there
were 700 letters in the
alphabet.

understand the writing on the walls of
the temples and tombs then a stone.
