NOTTINGHAM GATE HOME OWNERS' ASSOCIATION
POOL AND TENNIS RULES
General Rules:
1. The pool and tennis area is for the private use of the members and guests of the Nottingham Gate
Home Owners' Association (NGHOA). Persons living in the Nottingham Gate Subdivision who
are not members of NGHOA are not considered guests and, therefore, cannot visit the pool or
tennis area, even when babysitting for members of NGHOA.
2. Residents and guests shall comply with all local codes and regulations applicable to pools use
(including health and sanitation codes). No person may use the pool or tennis area in a manner
that, in the discretion of the Board, creates a nuisance or unreasonable disturbance to other pool or
tennis users or causes damage to the Common Property.
3. No persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs are permitted.
4. Bicycle, scooter, power wheel, and skateboard riding as well as rollerblading are prohibited in the
pool area and on the tennis courts.
5. All persons using the pool and tennis area do so at their own risk. Owners and management
are not responsible for accidents and injuries.
6. The pool and tennis area is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Absolutely no use of the pool
and tennis area or entry into the pool and tennis area is permitted when the pool and tennis area is
closed, unless specifically authorized by the Board. Any one in the pool and tennis area after
hours will be considered a trespasser and may be subject to enforcement by the Association.
7. Violation of theses rules and regulations may result in the imposition of fines, suspension of
pool privileges and/or the imposition of other legal sanctions. It is each resident’s
responsibility to comply with the pool and tennis rules and regulations. Each resident is
furthermore responsible for the actions of his or her guests and ensuring that his or her guests
comply with these rules and regulations and the governing legal documents for the Association.
8. Violations of these rules should be reported to the Board of Directors of the Association.
Pool Rules:
1. All swimmers using the pool acknowledge and represent that they are capable and able swimmers
2. The First Aid Kit is located in the hallway of the pool house.
3. The Emergency phone is located in the hallway of the pool house.
4. The pool house gate is to be locked at all times; propping open the gate is not permitted.
5. All children under the age of 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult (18 years of age
or older), parent, or guardian while at the pool. Unescorted children under 14 years of age will
be asked to leave the pool area immediately, unless the child has been certified in lifesaving by the
American Red Cross and such written certification has been provided to the Association prior to
use of the pool. Each parent or guardian accompanying a minor child shall be responsible for
conduct and supervision of such child.
6. There should be no solo swimming.
7. Diving is prohibited.
8. Running, boisterous or rough play or excessive noise is FORBIDDEN in the pool area,
showers, or dressing rooms.
9. Jumping over the fence is prohibited.
10. Water balloons are prohibited
11. Any person having an infectious or communicable disease is PROHIBITED from using the pool.
12. Persons with diarrhea or nausea should not enter pool.
13. Persons with skin, eye, ear, or respiratory infection should not enter pool.
14. Persons having open blisters, cuts, lesions, etc., should not enter pool.
15. Spitting, spouting water, blowing the nose or discharging bodily wastes in the pool is strictly
prohibited. All children who are not toilet trained must be in diapers and plastic pants.
16. All persons using the swimming pool must take a shower before entering the pool enclosure.
17. Common towels, combs, brushes and drinking cups are prohibited. Private swimsuits and towels
should be cleaned after each use.
18. No drinks or food are permitted in the pool or within a two (2) foot radius of the pool edge. No
glass containers are permitted.
19. No animals or pets are allowed in the pool area.
20. Persons with long hair must wear bathing caps.
21. After using the pool, footwear and towels must be used when returning to the building.
22. NGHOA membership covers out-of-town relatives staying at your home on a temporary basis.
However, family relatives residing locally are considered day guests and members must
accompany them when using the pool.
23. Occasional parties for children will be allowed at the pool. The date, time, number of attendees
and names of responsible supervising adult members MUST be approved in advance by two
Board Members and the Pool Committee Chairperson to avoid conflicting times and excessive
use. Only off-peak time will be approved (generally after 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays). The
event will be posted on the bulletin board at the pool. The pool area must be cleared of trash after
the event. The children's pool party is also limited to two hours of non-exclusive use (i.e., other
NGHOA members can use the pool at the same time).
24. Nannies / babysitters may accompany your minor child to the pool. They may use your key in
your absence. A nanny may not bring anyone who is not the child of a dues paying family
member.
25. Replacement keys are available from the Pool Committee Chairperson.
