• Dimensions and location of fireplace elements like damper and flue

• Chimney is a separate structural element and the use of flashing in
the connection with the roof

• Damper should be laid under smoke chamber ( damper when
opened composed smoke shelf)
• Smoke chamber ( smooth surfaces, vertical back, sloped sides (60
deg.) to dismiss smoke
• Each fireplace should have a flue. More than one flues could be in
one chimney.
