The Nokia Lumia 900: The Next Big Thing in Smartphones
A new smartphone has entered the market. The Nokia Lumia 900 has a Windows operating
system that runs on high speed 4G LTE connectivity technology. The third Lumia phone has
Nokia's largest display with a 4.3 inch AMOLED ClearBlack display. Even with this large
display, it is designed to fit comfortably in the hand and also features a front facing camera.
These are only a few of the features that are making the Lumia 900 the latest player in the
smartphone competition.
The Lumia 900 was designed specifically with the United States market in mind and presents
a collaboration with AT&T. In fact, users can download an AT&T U-verse Mobile app so that
those who subscribe to U-verse can use various services such as the program guide as well
as manage the DVR settings remotely. Users can also watch more than 100 television series
with more than 700 shows from the U-verse Mobile library. Sports fans will also be glad to
know that ESPN's Sports Hub comes preloaded with this phone. They can keep up with news,
scores and videos on the go.
The Nokia Lumia 900 is also designed for those who are connected to social networks. The
People Hub provides an Internet and social network that allows users to receive real time
updates and fast web browsing with Live Tiles and Internet Explorer Mobile respectively.
Nokia has also partnered with EA to bring more than 20 popular games first to all Nokia Lumia
devices via the Windows Phone marketplace.
Users will also find many other choices in the content they have available for this smartphone.
This device can be turned into a GPS navigation system with Nokia Drive that can be
downloaded from the Windows Phone Marketplace. This then lets the device take voice
commands and operate on a dedicated in-car user interface to create a turn by turn navigation
system. Of course, the front-facing camera creates high quality images for still photos and
video both indoors and outdoors.
Furthermore, users of this smartphone have access to the CNN App for Windows with
connections to iReport as well as CNN news and video from all around the world. This app will
be exclusive to Nokia users for three months. The Univision App will be exclusive for Nokia
users for 18 months in the United States and Puerto Rico. Spanish language users will have
access to various forms of Univision coverage including cooking, entertainment, news and
sports. Various users in the US will even have local coverage depending upon the market.
These are only a few of the reasons the Nokia Lumia 900 is gearing up to be a serious
competitor for other smartphones on the market. In addition to the high access speeds and
available content for users of this device, there is also the price. This Lumia will be available
for $100 for those who sign a two year contract with Nokia. The expected March 18 launch
date will see if the Lumia 900 will live up to the hype.
