Great Work-Out!
This well-designed program combines fast-paced yoga moves for fat-
burning, hatha yoga poses for strength and flexibility, and stability ball
exercises for core conditioning in three segments that can be done in one
60-minute session, or separately. Segment 1 builds patterns based on
strong yoga poses such as the Warrior and Balancing Stick, adding lifts
and lunges at a fast pace so that youre breathing faster and working the
muscles simultaneously. Segment 2 is strength training by holding poses.
Segment 3 focuses on core strength with a stability ball. Some familiarity
with yoga is helpful--Austin doesnt give much instruction about breathing
or the fine points of the poses--but not required. Although Austin talks
nonstop, as always, her voice is quieter than usual and more fitting for this
workout. (The repetitive, rhythmic music, however, is distracting rather
than supportive.) Recommended for intermediate exercisers because no
modifications are shown, and many of the poses are challenging. --Joan

I absolutely love Denise Austin: her relentless optimism, easy lead-by-
example style, and of course her great smile and perfectly fit body
performing constantly proper forms. 'And now let me see your wonderful
smiling faces!' Thank you, Denise--you're the best. I think this particular
Yoga workout is near-perfect. I only skip the 3rd segment, since I don't like
to work with the ball. Too bloody dangerous, to be honest, unless you
work out on a thick carpet. But the first 30 minute segment is a killer
workout, and the 2nd is very challenging in its wake. Once you can really
follow the flow, you will sweat like you wouldn't believe and feel like a
million bucks. You have to eat right, too, you know. But her personality
plus the great workouts make a very real difference, and I just never get
tired of it. Of course she's done a wide variety of other DVDs, some of
which I also enjoy, but this is a clear favorite which I still use at least two
days a week (usually on the weekend). I should add that all of Denise's
co-participants on this project are skilled and attractive people, but there is
one totally stunning brunette wearing a gray top and powder blue pants.
Wow, what a charmer. I dedicate all my yoga workouts to her!
