A major international pharmaceutical company, our client’s significant R&D investment has produced
some of the world’s groundbreaking pharmaceuticals. As part of a strategy to achieve optimal speed
and efficiency in product development, a new Global Medical Writing team is being created.
The new Regional Medical Writing Manager reports to the Global Head of Medical Writing and will
play a key role in building the strategy and processes for the global medical writing organisation.
This will include managing a team of Medical Writing Coordinators and a pool of contract writers
based in UK and across Europe. You will be accountable for assuring the delivery of high quality
and timely medical writing reports for all global programmes, which are managed within your team.
You will have at least 6 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry including experience in
medical writing and, ideally, exposure to writing for NDA/EMEA submissions. A thorough
understanding of the overall drug development process and of the functions and inter-relationships
of all departments in Product Development is vital. You will possess effective communication,
planning and project management skills and a strong attention to detail. Exposure to leading a team
(contract or in-house) is preferred as is a working knowledge of current electronic authoring,
document management, publishing tools and technologies.
