Regarding this Book
And
The Book of the Revelation
First and foremost, God is not now in the business of calling children, or those inclined to
limit both themselves and others to the level of 8th grade thinkers, into the service of the
ministry. Neither the Book of the Revelation, nor the Bible in which it is found, was
written for, or, to 8th graders. Intellectually, then, the book is a man-sized work, requiring
man-sized thinkers, capable of handling the man-sized task of deciphering and delivering
it to a world of lost sinners in desperate need of a Savior. It is for their benefit that John
was instructed to pen the Apocalypse.
In short, this project is not an arm-chair read—or, so it may not be to some. This is
God’s Crystal Ball by means of which He wishes to give lost scoffing men an unfettered
view, first of Himself, then, of himself and his future. The object of the Revelation is to
force him to think, outside the box of his own limited, handicapped reason, and, thus,
beyond himself. It is, one might argue, a PR initiative designed to acquaint unsaved
men with God in His omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. Hereby the ultimate
end is to warn and give all men a preview of His plan for the last days.
It is for this reason, that saints must be willing to think on an adult level, outside the bun
of the religion of Baal—structured and tailored to “dumb-down” the things of God so as
in the end to contain both the word and the work of God, thereby short-circuiting its
effectiveness and reach, relative to the saving of souls.
