PROSPERITY
Salvation is not about prosperity we as ministers of god, need to spend more
time teaching and preaching salvation, rather than prosperity.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his
own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:26
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth,
supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness
with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and
it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us
be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a
snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in
destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:
which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee
these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience,
meekness. I Timothy 6:-5-11
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor
trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all
things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready
to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a
good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal
life. I Timothy 6:17-19
There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh
himself poor, yet hath great riches. Proverbs 13:7
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be
rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20
Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in
riches. Psalms 73:12
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Proverbs 23:4
Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble
therewith. Proverbs 15:16
Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
Proverbs 16:8
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth
corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: Matthew 6:19
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's
life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Luke 12:15
He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty
shall come upon him. Proverbs 28:22
A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
Psalms 37:16
Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in
his ways, though he be rich. Proverbs 28:6
THE POOR RICH:
There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh
himself poor, yet hath great riches. Proverbs 13:7
The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
Proverbs 19:22
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having
nothing, and yet possessing all things. II Corinthians 6:10
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and
are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; I Corinthians 4:11
Why was Paul hungry, and without changing clothes?
Did not the bible say I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not
seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. (Psalms 37:25)
Paul was not forsaken, neither was he begging bread. Paul’s faith was being
tested. Paul knew that the faith of the Righteous would be tested. Read the
following scriptures.
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him,
but also to suffer for his sake; 30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in
me, and now hear to be in me. Philippians 1:29-30
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord,
for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. 11 Behold, we count
them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have
seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
James 5:10-11
And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto
him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 58 And Jesus said
unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of
man hath not where to lay his head. Luke 9:57-58
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations ;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let
patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting
nothing. James 1:2-4
God want the righteous to focus on spiritual things because everything in
this world is temporary. We are here today, but we could be gone into
eternity by tomorrow. We could be gone even before tomorrow.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above,
not on things on the earth. Colossian 3:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God. II Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself
with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to
be a soldier. Romans 12:2
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:12
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world
is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the
enemy of God. 5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that
dwelleth in us lusteth to envy ? James 4:4-5
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love
the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world,
the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of
the Father, but is of the world.Romans 8: Because the carnal mind is
enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed
can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are
not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if
Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life
because of righteousness. I John 2:15-16
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he
that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by
his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Why is it that most people ignore the fact that they don’t know when death
will take them away from this life? They live like life is in their own hands.
What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul
from the hand of the grave? Selah. Psalms 89:48
For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for
all living. Job 30:23
For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person
perish, and leave their wealth to others. 11 Their inward thought is, that their
houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations;
they call their lands after their own names. Psalms 49:10-11
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many
years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. 20 But God said unto him,
Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall
those things be, which thou hast provided? 21 So is he that layeth up treasure
for himself, and is not rich toward God. Luke 12:19-21
There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither
hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war;
neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. Ecclesiastes 8:8
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It
is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
James 4:14-15
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The
grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: I Peter 1:24
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrew 9:27
