were conceded to the one who

over the rest of the family…

• The peculiar benediction to

the father

and well even today among

churches...



• Churches are composed of

individual Christians..



• The direction of any Church

is based on the attitudes

and hearts of those

Christians…

Esau that exist today as

compared to Churches of

Christ...

I. Many Churches Are “Churches Of

Esau” Because Of Their Regard For

One Another…

A. The Church of Esau considers

member relationships a “common

thing” no different than any

other relationship and not

special.

1. Evident by the lack of

importance placed on it.

2. Where are brethren placed in

our lives?

3. “Small” things can be quite

revealing if allowed.



B. The Church of Christ valued

their relationship not only to

Christ but to one another to the

Esau”

1. Because of the price paid

for it (Acts 2:36-37).

2. The standard placed upon

it (Jn 15:10-17).



3. The joy of it and the joy

from it (Acts 2:41-42; 44-

47).



4. The implications of it

(Acts 2:40 Cf Eph 2:3; Col

3:1-6 Cf *2 Cor 6:14-

18).

C. Every Church of Christ will

strive to emulate the pattern

of friendship exemplified by

our brethren in the 1st

century.
