Being a music education major, there are many goals that I would like to meet. My first
is to become a better singer and all-around musician than I currently am so that I can better
teach my future students on proper techniques. Increasing my skills in piano will also be very
beneficial. Academically, I would like to ensure that I am able to complete all assignments to
the very best of my ability. I also want to work to make the dean’s list this semester. I would
also like to work on my procrastination so that I am not finishing every assignment just before it
is due, as is my usual habit. Of course, these goals do not come without their challenges. While
trying not to procrastinate is a goal, procrastination will still be a very big hurdle to jump that
can cause me to not meet any of my goals. I am also worried that I may overwork myself and
not leave enough time to just breathe. I am very excited for performing in ensembles this
semester, especially Glee Club. I am also looking forward to some of the activities I am involved
in, such as THON and Phi Mu Alpha. I know that if I can overcome my obstacles and complete
my goals, I will have a very successful first semester.
