                     ABOUT US
 biotechnology is the combination of science and
technology, using living organisms to produce
    valuable products and services.
 Applications of biotechnology are far reaching and
    include food production, forestry, agriculture,
    medicine and the environment
HISTORY
The department of biotechnology was established in
the year 2004 with well equipped lab
 The graduate course in biotechnology is started with
  two combinations I.e.
 B;sc: Biotechnology, chemistry biochemistry
 B;sc: Biotechnology, chemistry, zoology

‘’ TO STRENGTHEN THE STUDENTS IN
THE INTERDICIPLINARY WORK THE
APPLIED BRANCH OF LIFE SCIENCES –
   BIOTECHNOLOGY ’’
                     AIM
 ‘’To ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE IN rapid
    expanding knowledge of latest research
    trends of biotechnology’’
                VISION
 ‘’ To be an academic and significant
    department with research infrastructure
through the establishment of a thematic
research and development facility with multi-
    disciplinary research effort ’’.
OBJECTIVES

 To improve professional , practical , technical,managing skills
    of the students

 Training students and developing expertise in, biotechnology
at graduate Level by conducting seminars ,work shops and
    short term certificate courses

 To promote the students to indulge in projects in frontier areas
    of biotechnology
 To encourage the students to take career in research and
    development
 To direct the students attain higher education in biotechnology
    and related fields
Central facilities
 The central biotechnology laboratory is equipped
    with major instruments where
 We conduct

 Biochemistry, cell biology
 Tissue culture experiments and projects
    TISSUE CULTURE LAB
 Biotechnology lab is partitioned
  with specialized well equipped
  tissue culture lab which was
established in 2008 where we do
  tissue culture experiments and
  projects .it has two sections
 1.inoculation room and

 2.culture room
