JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
DEPARTMENT: Agency
REPORTS TO: President/CEO
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees entire program and provides leadership to the organization. Directs agency
efforts to accomplish the mission of the organization in accordance with the policies
adopted by the Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors. Develops the
capabilities of his/her direct reports.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The director essential job functions are:
Working relationship with the Board of Directors
Monitors, consults, and directs program matters to ensure that policies,
procedures and practices stay in accordance with legislation, KSBBBS and
BBBSA.
Manages and oversees supervision of agency staff
Directs agency administration in conjunction with the Board Treasurer, including
financials for the agency.
Coordinates/Directs fund raising activities which includes direct support for the
major funding committee, BFKS committee, membership committee and special
events committee of the board of directors.
Coordinates/Directs Volunteer Recruitment Activities
Coordinates/Directs Community Relations Activities
Coordinates/Directs Involvement with Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters of
America and Kansas Big Brothers Sisters, Inc. including preparation of required
reports.
Performs case manager duties as needed. (See job description for case manager).
Participates in BFKS, Group Activities, BFAD’s and other activities important to
the advancement of the agency
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree
Training or experience in program administration
Cost Management experience
Experience in public relations preferred
Personnel management experience
Team management skills
Executive Director 3.03

Computer experience
Detail Oriented
Ability to multi-task
Communication skills
Public speaking ability
Ability to prioritize
Fundraising experience
