Association of Furman Students Freshman Class Secretary/Treasurer Candidate Theta Brown
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. My name is Theta Brown and I am a candidate for the position of Freshman Class Secretary/Treasurer. The qualities that I believe a secretary/treasurer should have are honesty, trustworthiness, dependability, neatness, great organizational skills, and loyalty, and I believe that I hold all of these to the highest standards. When something needs to be done, I make sure that it is completed in a timely and precise manner. If I tell someone that I am going to do something, then I do it. I not only do what I say, but whatever I have done one will know that I did it because it will definitely be the best. Also, if I start something, I finish it. I try not to overwhelm myself with too many tasks, but with whatever undertaking I accept, I put my all into it, thus yielding amazing results. Last but not least, I tell the truth, no matter how hard it may be. Duties of a secretary/treasurer include, keeping track of records and events while also counting and handling any funds that the Freshman Class may incur. It is up to us, the Freshman Class of 2013, to make our class the best class ever, and it all starts with who you choose to represent you. I will do all that I can to ensure change, progress, and ultimately success. I consider myself to be distinct from any of the other candidates because of my hard work, diligence, and undying determination to get things done, the right way, the first time. Here at Furman University, we are all about engaging ourselves in every aspect of life. Being that I am a part of the Engaged Living community, I feel like I have firsthand experience and the upper hand on my opponents. I
interact well with others and engage myself into whatever opportunity that I am given. So let’s be engaged together and allow me to represent you, the distinguished Class of 2013. As David Brinkley once said, “A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.” So, let’s make our class or even this year successful by throwing me your ideas, and allowing me to build a firm foundation that will support all of us. I believe that Freshman Class Secretary/Treasurer is one of the most important positions, and the best person for the job should hold the title. So, choose me, Theta Brown, as your Freshman Class Secretary/Treasurer, and the possibilities are endless.
