You and I are the class of 2013 Let FU be HEARD! Vote Natalie Edwards Greetings to all my fellow Paladins! We did it! We finally broke out of the high school vortex and have landed into the circus world of college. I’m sure you have been tamed by your parents only to be let loose like a tiger and trained as a tight-rope walker only to fall from the climbing wall during O-week, or master the bull at the carnival, or even revel in a plethora of foam. Yes, indeed we have met our match here at Furman. We are open minds being infiltrated by the craziness of O-week and captivated by the abundance of knowledge waiting to be found. We will press on and we will conquer, while we establish ourselves as the unmistakable, inexpressible, unalterable Class of 2013 – and I want to be the voice of our great class to set us as the pattern for all the future Furman students to come. Therefore, we need each other in order to build a withstanding legacy here at Furman and I want to bring us to that point! Whether you need a study partner at 3am in the morning, a ride to Wal-Mart to pick up some sodas and nachos, or a friend to lean on when there’s no one nearby on campus – I’ll be there for you whenever, whatever. I’m not going to bore you with proposed initiatives or crazy thought up plans just so you’ll elect me president. I will not make false promises and I will not scheme against anyone else, but I will speak from the heart and tell you that I will be YOUR voice at Furman University so that we can continue to build upon the already amazing university that we now call home. There are many social benefits, community outreach projects, athletic fan groups, and environmentally friendly ideas I have in mind for us to talk about but I need your input, as our relationship is a two-way street. I serve you as President and you lend me any ideas, suggestions or concerns that you have. I want to be the voice of our Freshman class because we need to be connected to each other as one thriving unit: one unmatched class of superior individuals! We need to be chanting like crazy at every sporting event that our classmates are giving their time to and supporting every artistic event that our classmates are involved in. Let FU be heard throughout the vastness of Greenville and throughout all the Southern Conference because we are Furman and we are the future of tomorrow! For whatever concern, idea, thought, or suggestion you have, I want to MAKE IT HAPPEN – not just say that I will, but actually make sure that it does. There are so many fantastic opportunities we can get involved with, and I am excited for what you and I have to offer to Furman as the class of 2013! So I encourage you, to all move forwards with Edwards!!!
