Trent Cromer - As with all the really great breeders in this association,
Trent Cromer had been written about countless times. Not just about his cattle, but about how he
cared for SEBBA and BBU, his family whom he adored, his ranch that he worked on constantly
to improve and of course, all his friends. Monday, September 21, 2009, that enormous heart of his lost the
battle with the other health problems Trent had. Now we, the SEBBA and BBU family of which he was
such a large part, mourn this loss deep in our own hearts. There is nothing we can do or say to Trent, but
we can let the family know how we feel.
Connie, this is for you: “Trent Cromer was one of a kind, with emphasis on kind. He was funny,
caring and determined to do everything he did to the fullest. This is a man who will be missed by
many for a long, long time.” Carol Craig

2009 BBU CONVENTION San Antonio, Texas
At the Connection, we like to keep the reader interested in what

on a plane with Davin Vaughn and Dave Loftin on my way to San

Life is good. Fine, so I’m way too easily entertained, but this will
be the first convention under the ‘new management’ and I was
eager to see how things would go. It was outrageous good.

Who Would Have Thought. . .
That a sale as good as the HMS dispersal could be as sad as it
was good. It was really bittersweet to see all the cattle go; it was
great to know they went to programs that will use them well.
It has been a unique year to say the least. Laughing so hard
we cried, crying so hard we had to laugh. Some of us have had
so much rain we didn’t know if we would have enough dry time
to plant and then, time to harvest before the next downpour;
others have been so dry they are dusting up and trying to blow
away. We have held meetings that have increased membership
and revenue. We are under new leadership that so far has proven
to be proactive as opposed to reactive. We are back on track and
headed in a direction that can only take us up. It is exciting.
2010 should be a wonderful year. With new innovations
being put into motion, new friends joining the association and
old friends returning, I don’t know about you, but I am looking
forward to this next year. I also know I left “Preacher” Raburn
out of something and promised him I would apologize, so here it
is!
Well, I know I’ve said this before, but I am so late this time, it
is past killin’ time. Sorry Penny and Tina!!!
We are, after all, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
