Instructions
Purpose of this template
Organisation Development Services are conducting a review of the North West School of Public
Health. A summary of the purpose of the review can be found on www.odsuk.com.
This template has been designed to invite you to offer your perspective about the Specialist training
programme. We have used the traditional SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats)
framework as this is easily understood and analysed.
The template contains a number of suggested prompts to stimulate your thinking about the
programme. However, please do not be limited by this.
How to complete the template
The template is a word document that you will need to save on your own PC and send as an email
attachment once completed to donna@odsuk.com
Please complete each of the 4 quadrants, providing comments as fully as possible and expanding any
acronyms. If you can detail any sources of data or evidence to support any comments, please also
mention this.
Once you have completed the SWOT, you are invited to provide your opinion of the 3 actions that
you would most recommend to the School as constructive actions. You can offer between 1-3
suggestions, or leave this out if you prefer.
The templates will be analysed week commending 6 th April, so the latest date to send them to Donna
Bradshaw is Friday 3 rd April 2009.
Your contributions will remain anonymous – we ask for your name (and indeed will have your email
addresses) just so you can be contacted for points of clarity and to ensure understanding. All results
will be summarised and the themes included with the rest of the review data.
What happens next?
ODS will prepare a draft report of findings for the Deanery, which will be presented to a Whole
Systems Event in May 2009 – this date and venue has not yet been finalised but there will be a
notification nearer the time. The aim of this event will be to engage as many people as possible in
developing recommendations that will form the School action plan.
