The Sydney Institute English Centre (SITEC) is in the heart of the city at Ultimo College. We are accredited by the National
English Language Teaching Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) – an independent body ensuring high standards. With highly
qualified and experienced teachers, computer and language laboratories and tutorial support, our courses will help you to
make maximum progress with your English.
Our English programs will help you prepare for further study at TAFE, other vocational courses or university. The programs
offer direct pathways with all TAFE courses and a number of Australian universities. You can also improve your language
skills for work and travel and learn to communicate with confidence.
For younger students, we offer High School Preparation courses. Successful completion gives students entry into New
South Wales government high schools or private high schools.

I knew I had done the right thing going to TAFE. The study pace
was great and the teachers were great. I started looking for a job in
accounts when I graduated and two weeks later I got one! I know that was
because of TAFE. With jobs so hard to come by in this economic climate,
I was amazed! Going to TAFE has also given me the opportunity to go on
to UTS to do my business degree with a whole year of advanced
standing. This means I’ll finish my degree in just two years.

I loved my course, it was fabulous. We had a lot of fun, it was
like one big holiday (literally)! We were always out doing things
in the field rather than only being in a classroom. The teachers were
great. They’ve got lots of industry experience and I loved their stories.
The course really helped me with my communication and people skills.
I learned things in the course which will be essential to succeed no

When I arrived in Australia my English was terrible. I only knew
how to say “how are you” and “I love you”! So I enrolled at
SITEC right away. I made a lot of friends there and really improved my
English. After my English course, I studied IT Networking at Petersham.
Everything I learned there was so practical – I could use my skills at
work right away and the teachers were great. Now I am taking
a Bachelor’s in IT at university, but actually I enjoyed Petersham
much more!

Our Colleges
Ultimo
Ultimo is the most popular TAFE College for international students
in New South Wales. It is located in the heart of the city, walking
distance from major shopping centres, sight-seeing, all public
transport and two of Sydney’s most important universities – the
University of Sydney and UTS. It is a beautiful campus, with a
wonderful combination of ultra-modern facilities and historic
buildings.
Randwick
Randwick College is between the city and Australia’s most famous
beach – Bondi. It is located next to beautiful Centennial Park and a
few minutes away from the University of New South Wales. This is a
popular student area, with many shops, restaurants and cafes as well
as plenty of accommodation close by.
Petersham
Petersham College is in Sydney’s inner west, not far from the centre
of Sydney. For students interested in IT, Petersham is an important
college as it is a CISCO Networking Academy. Petersham is a
cosmopolitan part of the city and is home to Italian and Portuguese
communities. There are cafes, bars, restaurants and lots to explore.
St George
St George College is located in the pleasant southern suburbs
of Sydney, close to shops, restaurants, medical services, public
transport and the international airport. This is one of Sydney’s most
multi-cultural areas, with Asian and Mediterranean cultural influences
to enjoy.
Design Centre Enmore
The Design Centre Enmore is one of the best design schools in
Australia, where you will be surrounded by students and staff as
passionate about design as you are. Our students and graduates
regularly win national and international prizes and are employed
at some of Australia’s most successful design companies and
organisations. The College is close to the centre of Sydney and
walking distance from some of Sydney’s liveliest areas.
TONI&GUY Sydney International School
of Hairdressing
Students in TONI&GUY Hairdressing courses will study at the
specialist school in Paddington, one of the most fashionable parts of
Sydney.
Sutherland - Loftus
Sutherland College is located about 40 minutes south of central
Sydney. It is close to a national park and beautiful beaches. You will
enjoy the natural beauty and friendly atmosphere of the area, and
still be able to reach the city centre easily.
