By prophecy is meant the power to tell what will happen in times to come. In Christianity, prophecy
refers to the ability to hear audibly from God through the inner voice, a message which 'is thought
to be divinely inspired information.' With prophecy, God makes known to people the meaning of
the past, present or future. Its purpose is always to warn, correct, inform, instruct, direct or to
impart knowledge.
Therefore, every Christian should get interested in prophetic beliefs and pursuits (1 Cor 14: 1)
because without over blowing it, prophecy's usefulness is so enormous that it shouldn't be ignored
by those who wholeheartedly confess the Christian faith. Prophecies are vital in God's agenda.
Let us remember that the world was created through prophetic pronouncements. Also, God called
Abraham and prophesied his future greatness as a blessing to all families of the earth (Gen. 12: 3)
when He ordered him to proceed to a land Abraham had never before known.
In fact, kings, nobles, prophets and nations were dealt with through Christian prophecies. Some
were for honor while others were for dishonor. Men and women won battles, got directions and
received blessings through the prophetic utterances on them.
Jesus Christ, the greatest of all, was born through the word of prophecies. He lived, died and on
the third day He resurrected. Each of these phases of His life was prophesied well ahead of the
time of their physical manifestation. That He will come again is a matter firmly established in the
calendar of prophecies. The Christian Bible is eloquent on it that the world is held by the word of
prophecy and as the world draws to a close, prophecies will play even greater roles in the final
victory of Christians over the world, sin and Satan.
From the foregoing, you wouldn't need to be told that you need prophetic pronouncements to re-
order your present and future for success, victory and triumph. This is our prophecy for you as you
read along with us.
How will you get involved with prophecy since the Bible says it is better to prophesy than to speak
in tongues? It is by doing the following:
Keep a daily fellowship with God.
Be baptized in the Holy Spirit to build up your faith.
Have a devotional or devoted study of God's word.
As you do all of this - Christians of all denominations - God will put His word of prophecy in your
very mouth and you will talk without pre-meditation in a manner that will benefit the world. We see
God back you up as one of His last day prophets of blessings.
