NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
WEST ENDICOTT FIRE DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to Section 179 of the Town Law, the
West Endicott Fire District will hold a special election at the fire station, 113 North Page
Avenue, Endicott, New York, on August 31, 2009. The polls will be open for the receipt
of ballots between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
At the election, the qualified voters of the West Endicott Fire District may vote
upon the following propositions:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall the Fire District purchase one (1) Pumper Rescue Truck and all necessary
additions and modifications thereto at a cost not to exceed $300,000.00?
PROPOSITION NO. 2
If Proposition No. 1 is approved, shall the Fire District
be permitted to adopt the following resolution:
“Resolved that the purchase of (1) Pumper Rescue Truck and all necessary
additions and modifications thereto at a cost not to excess $350,000.00 shall be
handled as follows:
(1) A grant from the United States Department of Agriculture in the
amount of $50,000;
(2) A loan from the United States Department of Agriculture in the
principal amount of $200,000 for a term of 15 years at 4.5%
interest;
(3) $50,000 to be withdrawn from the “Apparatus” capital reserve fund;
(4) $40,000 from the sale of surplus equipment, namely a 1988 FMC
Pumper Truck, which is hereby declared to be no longer necessary
for any of the Fire District’s uses or purposes, and
(5) Cash on hand, as necessary.
